Suffolk Construction Operations Manager in Big Sky, Montana

The Operations Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of all operations in the region. The Operations Manager’s role is to manage field staff, oversee multiple projects simultaneously, performing site visits on a regular basis, be present for any major onsite operations, ensure operations are completed safely, on time and within budget. attend any preconstruction/planning and safety meetings.

  • Daily work site visits

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 10-15 years related experience

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of business and managing personnel

  • Basic research methods and techniques

  • Computer applications used in general office settings, including word processing, spreadsheet, database management, email and internet search engines

  • Basic Math and standard English grammar and usage

  • Construction industry experience necessary and/or required departmental experience necessary

  • Experience working for a union subcontractor preferred

Construction jobsite and warehouse conditions, which include exposure to high temperatures; cool/cold temperatures; weather conditions, and loud noises. Some general office and construction trailer working conditions. Job site walking.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; talk or hear; perform fine motor, hand and finger skills in the use of a keyboard, telephone, or writing. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level and spend additional time on the physical job site or construction trailer. Job site walking.
