Bozeman Health PHARMACY TECH NON CERTIFIED - BIG SKY in Big Sky, Montana
This position is responsible for assisting the pharmacist in the delivery of quality pharmaceutical care and drug distribution as permitted by law. Duties include working at Highland Park Pharmacy and Big Sky Pharmacy as needed for the daily operation of the pharmacies and training. Must be competent with working under distance supervision (video link) and managing all aspects of Pharmacy operation with-out supervision on site. Upon completetion of training, must be self motivated to keep Pharmacy operation up to date in all aspects.
Serve as supportive personnel. Duties fall into task categories that do not require pharmaceutical judgement.
- High School Graduate or GED
Must be at least 18 years of age.
National certification as Pharmacy Technican and registration with Montana Board of Pharmacy as Certified Technician with-in 18 months of hire.
- Required to have at least six months of active experience as a pharmacy technician or experience deemed as equivalent by the board.
LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION
- Registration with Montana Board of Pharmacy as Pharmacy Technician-in-Training.
Completion of registration with the Montana Board of Pharmacy must be submitted with-in seven days of hire.
Must be licensed with the Montana Board of Pharmacy as a Tech-in-Training with-in 30 days of hire.
- Health industry and or Medical experience.
KNOWLEDGE OF, SKILLS IN, ABILITY TO, COMPLEXITY AND DIFFICULY:
- Knowledge of personal computers, hardware, basic software programs including Microsoft Outlook, word processing, and spreadsheets.
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform basic pharmaceutical calculations (proportions, percentages, aliquot, metric system conversions etc.).
Pharmaceutical and medical terminology.
Ability to refer to policy manual for specific instructions/guidelines.
Follow established policies and procedures.
Ability to adhere to the standards of the job description and overall philosophy of Bozeman Deaconess Health Services.
Ability to maintain flexibility to adapt to a variety of workload assignments and ability to work independently.

40% Time Spent -
Assists Pharmacist with all aspects of BDH medication distribution system. including compounding, accurate prescription filling, entering prescription information, doctor information and patient information into pharmacy software system, labeling and charging for prescriptions and over the counter items.
15% Time Spent -
Answers telephone and assists customers.
Performs variety of data entry and report generating tasks.
Operating POS system and helping customers with OTC products.
10% Time Spent -
Enters charges and credits.
Responsible for adjudication and reconcilation of patient accounts and insurance billing.
15% Time Spent -
Assists in maintaining accurate inventory.
Maintain adequate drug inventories and supplies to meet dispensing needs.
Assist in maintaining perpetual inventory including controlled substances.
Maintains Pharmacy in a neat and organized condition.
10% Time Spent -
Performs other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the department and organization.
