Job Description About The Role

The Data Management Lead will oversee the development and use of data systems, data integration and our Data Warehouse. The role will provide input on the logical and physical architecture of our Data Warehouse and discover efficient ways to organize, store and analyze data, all with attention to security and confidentiality. This role will lead a team of highly skilled SQL-ETL developers and Data Warehouse and Power BI administrators. The Candidate must have expert knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing techniques, excellent troubleshooting skills, strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to lead a team of technical people to work collaboratively with members of the technology, business and vendor solution teams to design and develop integrated solutions to fulfill the data analytic needs of the business. The goal is to ensure that information flows timely and securely to and from the organization as well as within.

This is a Corporate position which may be located at an available bank division location across our eight state footprint in AZ, CO, ID, MT, NV, UT, WA, or WY.

The entry rate for this position is $88,671.32 per year (calculated for Missoula, MT). All compensation offers are analyzed individually and take into consideration multiple factors including but not limited to geographic location, years of experience, and educational background.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Data Management
a. Provide data securely, with regulatory compliance, in the format and the timeframe needed.
b. Devise and implement efficient and secure procedures for data management and analysis with attention to all technical aspects.
c. Design data storage solutions for the organization and overseeing the loading of data into the system for reporting integration and operational needs.
d. Monitor and analyze information and data systems and evaluate their performance to discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, upgrades, etc.)
e. Lead the team in the improvement of existing tools and processes and the acquisition of new tools and processes to meet the needs of the business.
f. Ensure the data warehouse and ETL code and processes are protected from security breaches and data loss
g. Responsible for the development and implementation of conceptual, logical, and physical data models, and oversee the implementation of RDBMS, ODS, data marts, data lakes, etc. on target
h. Responsible for the design and implementation of effective physical data models and database solutions to store and retrieve company data for operational and analytic purposes.
i. Work with the business lines, risk, and the analytics team to define strategic directions and ensure data strategies and capabilities align with and support the strategic direction of the business lines.
j. Work with business lines to identify data requirements, implement data strategies, develop conceptual/logical/physical data models, and design and build data flows.
k. Oversee and govern the expansion of existing data architecture and the optimization of data query performance.
l. Collaborate with analytics team on the implementation and growth of a dimensional data warehouse.
m. Collaborate with analytics and risk teams on (meta-) data governance and (meta-) data management and design efforts.
n. Document data flows and prepare accurate database design and architecture reports and documentation for stakeholders, management, and executive teams.
2. Service Delivery and Project Support
a. Develop monitoring and analysis to quantitatively evaluate the efficiency of data processes and lead initiatives to improve them.
b. Ensure the team meets all SLA and business deadline requirements
3. Personnel Management
a. Accomplishes department objectives by managing staff; planning and evaluating department activities.
b. Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
c. Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
d. Coaches, counsels, and disciplines employees.
4. Escalated Incident Support
a. Respond to escalated to complex or major incidents
b. Collaborative troubleshooting with other teams
5. Must comply with all company policies and procedures and all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Must complete the assigned online training courses and achieve a passing score by due date

Education Level
Bachelor's Degree
Computer Science, Database Management, or similar field of study.
Experience Level
5 years
Similar or related experience as a Data Management Lead, including preparatory experience.
3 - 5 years
Management or team lead experience.
5 years
In the fields of SQL, TSQL, ETL, data architecture and/or data warehousing.

Advanced / Specialized Knowledge
Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution etc.).
Knowledge Of
Modern database and information system technologies.
Knowledge Of
Software development, testing, release management and ITIL practices.
Knowledge Of
ETL tools (e.g. TimeXtender), Azure, and/or Data Analytics and Business Intelligence tools (e.g. Microsoft Power BI).

Additional Requirements
Occasional travel required: (less than 10 days per year) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities.
