Description

Position Summary:The Employment Specialist works with local employers and community stakeholders to assist clients in obtaining and maintaining competitive employment consistent with their vocational goals. An Employment Specialist will have a heart and passion for working with young adults who face employment challenges due to mental illness. The applicant must be mission and values-driven, create relationships with local employers to develop employment opportunities for clients, possess a strong work ethic, reliability, and desire to be a positive role model for their clients. Currently, this allows for partial remote work, 3 days per week in the office and 2 days working from home.

Position Requirements

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED

  • 21 years old or older

  • Previous Professional Experience: six (6) months of vocational rehabilitation counseling, supported employment, case management; experience in marketing and sales in the private sector will also be considered.

  • License to operate passenger vehicle and possess reliable transportation.

  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to engage a diverse group of participants.

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently effectively.

  • The demonstrated ability to exercise and model good judgment, teamwork, and professionalism, especially in crises, and creative about finding solutions for them.

  • The demonstrated ability to relate and build rapport with youth therapeutically while serving as a positive role model for the youth.

  • The demonstrated ability to work in cooperation and collaboration with the treatment team.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Display regular, predictable, and reliable attendance at work.

  • Excellent active listening skills

  • Demonstrate sound & ethical judgment and decision-making skills.

  • Willingness and ability to obtain certification in First Aid/CPR and Violence Intervention Prevention.

  • Good computer/technology skills and ability to quickly learn and use YBGR selected software solutions.

  • Criminal / Child Abuse Clearance: Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years’ experience in the areas of specific treatment/mental health needs of children with emotional disturbance or adults with mental illness and their families.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Social Services, Vocational Rehabilitation, or related field

Full-Time/Part-TimeFull-Time

Hiring Range Salary$14.99 - $16.79 per hour based on education and qualifications.

About the OrganizationYellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch was founded in 1956 and welcomed the first boy to the ranch in 1957. Today Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, a nonprofit organization, is trusted locally and nationally as a leader in the field of mental health care for children and their families.

Our Residential Treatment is located on a 410 acre, working farm and ranch located in Billings, MT. We offer a continuum of mental health services that include case management, youth mentoring, home/school-based programs and foster care in addition to residential treatment. We specialize in treating troubled youth who struggle with social, emotional, and behavioral disorders. We also have four Community Based Services locations in Livingston, Lewistown, Dillon, and Billings. With all of our locations we impact about 650 kids each day. And throughout our history, YBGR has impacted close to 10,000 youth and their families.
