St. John's Lutheran Ministries Family Partner in Billings, Montana

FT Monday Friday! SUMMARY: The Family Partner will work with identified families to reinforce goals and support the family unit while following the Wraparound process. The C.A.R.E.S. Wraparound model is a strengths-based, family driven diversion program designed to divert youth and families from the child welfare system, juvenile justice system or residential care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Ensure that the family voice is leading the planning and implementation of care goals * Build relationships with family members, providers and the community * Provide information, referrals and linkages to appropriate community resources * Provide parent coaching, teaching and promotion of parent involved activities * Assist in increasing the family’s home management skills and provide hands on assistance in the upkeep of a safe and healthy environment * Complete all necessary documentation to ensure Wraparound model is followed with fidelity * Perform other incidental or related duties as assigned ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: Mission/Customer Service * Supports the growth and actively engages in the Eden Alternative philosophy, including a work environment with plants and animals. * Follows the St. John’s Guidelines for Customer Service * Let the Mission be your guide * Make eye contact and smile * Greet welcome each and every person * Seek out personal contact * Provide immediate service-listen act * Use appropriate body language at all times * Be gracious to each every person ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: Employee Responsibilities * Follows policy and procedures on annual TB testing. * Follows policy and procedures on annual influenza vaccinations. * Attends all mandatory in-services * Work cooperatively with SJU colleagues, both in local office and statewide * Follow the St. Johns United Guidelines for Customer Service * Work independently in stressful and sometimes isolated circumstances and accept consultation and supervision as needed ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION: SAFETY * Obeys health safety rules of St. John’s United * Identifies, reports, and/or corrects obvious safety hazards * Attends mandatory safety in-services REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: * High School diploma or Hi-Set required * Two years of experience navigating the mental health, education, juvenile justice or child welfare system preferred. * Education and/or experience, or knowledge in Social Services or related field preferred. Prefer minimum of two years’ experience in family social services setting such as crisis intervention and providing training in self-help. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: * Good written and verbal communication interpersonal skills * Demonstrate cultural competence sensitivity to population served * Support and uphold the mission, beliefs and values of St. John’s United * Familiar in the use of computers and Microsoft office programs and virtual web platforms TRAVEL/OTHER: * Candidate must have valid driver’s license, proof of current insurance and be able to drive throughout the state of MT. Other national travel may be required. * Must be able to pass a thorough background screening upon hire. * Some occasional evening and weekend hours required PHYSICAL DEMANDS: * Requires minimal lifting functions * Requires moderate bending, standing and reaching activities WORKING CONDITIONS: * Normal office setting. No hazardous material exposure * This position requires the ability to function independently in performing assigned duties
