WESTERN MUNICIPAL CONSTRUCTION INC HEAVY EQUIPMENT MECHANIC in BILLINGS, Montana
Western Municipal Construction is seeking a qualified Heavy Equipment Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair various types of excavation equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, motor graders, articulated trucks, etc. Candidate must have prior experience and knowledge of tasks associated with service of heavy construction equipment and knowledge of mechanical and lubrication systems of mobile construction equipment. Qualifications and Requirements: - At least 5 years of experience. - Must be familiar with John Deere, Caterpillar, and other equipment. - Must furnish own tools. - Must pass background check and drug screen. - Clean driving record. - Must have knowledge of hydraulics, electrical, pneumatics, and rebuilding components. - Must be able to communicate with all levels of employees. Major duties to include one or more of the following: - Checks Mechanical equipment to diagnose trouble, adjusting functional parts of mechanical devices to resolve issues. - Performs required repairs and preventive maintenance on equipment. - Cleans, lubricates, or adjusts parts, equipment, or machinery. - Travel may be required to the field to conduct repairs. - May be required to work outside of normal work schedule to meet customer needs. - Preforms other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements: - Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds. - Long periods of standing, squatting, kneeling, reaching or similar activities may be necessary. Typical working conditions and hazards: - Work is performed in all weather conditions and may be in a shop environment or outside in the field. - Able to perform duties with protective equipment, H2S respirator where required. - Potential hazards include working near or with heavy tools and machinery. - Potential exposure to loud noises, airborne toxins, solvents, flammable atmosphere and industrial chemicals.
