Billings Clinic IT Analyst - Helpdesk in Billings, Montana

IT Analyst - Helpdesk IT TECHNICAL (Billings Clinic Main Campus) req1201
Shift: Evening, Nights, Weekend Employment Status: Full-Time (.75 or
greater) Hours per Pay Period: 1.00 = 80 hours (Non-Exempt) Starting
Wage DOE: $18.95 - $24.44 Under general supervision, provides
information technology planning and configuration support for assigned
focus area(s) and to all users that are the responsibility of Billings
Clinic Information Services. Focus areas typically include Helpdesk and
PC analytics. Essential Job Functions • Designs, implements and
evaluates Information Services functions to cost effectively improve
organizational outcomes throughout Billings Clinic • Provides support
during technical crises • Acts as role model of professional Information
Services practices • Promotes Information Services across the
organization, utilizing technical knowledge, theory and technical skills
to promote optimal outcomes through best practice • Promotes excellent
project management through the use of industry accepted project
management methodologies • Participates in professional and technical
organizations to improve technology and improve healthcare through
technology, and to advance the IT profession • Develops standards of
Information Services practice in a focus area Serves as technical
resource for customers, staff, physicians and administration •
Collaborates with multi ple disciplines to organize and coordinate
technology enhancements to improve Information Services outcomes •
Serves as a technical resource for system-wide teams/tasks forces •
Participates in technical program development • Identifies facilitators
and/or barriers to qualify Information Services practice and
develops/implements action plans Is a contributor in the development of
policies and procedures • Analyzes data to identify trends that impact
Information Services outcomes and cost containment • Utilizes research
to develop technical competencies and other standards/guidelines for
Information Services • Reviews staff education materials • Assists in
the development and provision of continuing education programs for the
technical staff • Coordinates the development and implementation of
project management plans assigned by a leadership team member • Provides
regular communication to all members of the project team as well as all
clients involved in the project • Trains or coordinates training for
clients in the use of various IS tools • Gather and analyze general
information from vendors for the purpose of summarizing and comparing
new product selections • Assist multidisciplinary teams in the selection
and acquisition of new systems • Participate in client reference calls,
client site visits and the evaluation process leading to final vendor
selection • Makes recommendations and reports new product justifications
to various committees • Establish a cooperative working relationship
with vendor installation personnel and ensure expectations are
understood • Document test plans and training plans for upgrades and new
product releases • Coordinate testing and training through appropriately
developed plans • Develops and maintains required documentation • Assist
customer s in the translation of vendor technical documents • Recommends
software and/or hardware upgrades and changes related to a technology
enhancement or change • Aids vendor support representatives with logging
and reviewing of all software improvements • Assists in the development
and maintenance of a comprehensive business recovery plan • Provides
on-call coverage as assigned by the Information Services leadership team
• Align expectations with department leadership and staff on proper
utilization of IS services and solutions • Develop and prepare scope
documentation for user generated requests • Participates on task forces
and committees as assigned • Develop departmental policies and
procedures regarding services • Organize and facilitate user group
meetings • Advocates for patient-focused, system-minded and
knowledge-based solutions • Identifies needs and sets goals for own
growth and development; meets all mandatory organizational and
departmental requirements. Demonstrates a commitment to continuous
learning and seeks opportunities to contribute to Billings Clinic
organization-wide learning initiatives. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Microcomputer hardware • Microcomputer software (i.e., Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Access, Outlook and others related to Billings Clinic
standards) • Operating systems (i.e., DOS, Windows, Windows for
Workgroup, etc.) • LAN/WAN technologies and concepts • Client/server
environments • Communication and emulation concepts and products • Data
communications (i.e., remote access, modems) and related software •
Basic purchasing and budgeting principles • Professional communication
skills, both verbal and written • Working with diverse groups and all
levels of system users and to communicate/present information
effectively • Strong organizational, analytical, planning and project
management skills • Applying principles of continuous quality
improvement to self and others • Embracing change and demonstratin g
flexibility to adapt to new ideas, opportunities while respecting and
valuing differing opinions • Utilizing good judgment and demonstrating

write and perform mathematical calculations • Work around dust,
electrical hazards, chemical hazards, elevated surfaces, noisy areas and
sharp tools • Lift and transport equipment up to 50 pounds unassisted •
Drive a vehicle to support sites on occasion in various locations in
Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota Minimum Qualifications Education •
Associates degree from an approved institution in a related field
Experience • Three (3) years of information technology work experience
Certifications and Licenses • Current Montana drivers license and the
ability to be insured to operate Billings Clinic vehicles Billings
