The Quality Nursing Informaticist is part of the IT Nursing Informatics Team and will work with the Quality, Patient Safety and Infection Control Teams. They will work on improving current workflows and help support standardized best practices to improve our Quality, Patient Safety and Infection control metrics and outcomes. In addition, they will be involved in Root Cause Analysis reviews and help to resolve the issues that have contributed to these Serious Safety Events.
The Nursing Informaticist facilitates clinical quality, patient safety, service and value by integrating the nursing process, computer science, information science and evidenced based practices to optimize and standardize information systems, workflows and communications. Acts as a change agent in the identification, development, planning, implementation and value measurement of informatics strategies to support and integrate quality patient care and professional practice in accordance with applicable regulations and standards. This position provides critical analysis and evaluation of Health IT and recommends revision of clinical systems, processes and workflows to ensure achievement of positive patient outcomes, and optimal end-user experiences.
Position is responsible for assessing and mapping of current and future state workflows with gap identification/analysis. Workflow design to encompass the time from patient entry into the system throughout continuum of care. Facilitates design, build, training, process implementation and management of system configurations/enhancements, analyzing data, and information system requirements. Provides clinical and technical expertise as a Subject Matter Expert to the IT Team and end-user community at Billings Clinic Campus, branch locations, affiliates, managed and non-managed sites, vendors, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree, preferred
Minimum of Three (3) years of clinical nursing experience, preferred
Informatics experience preferred
Prior committee involvement, Super User, or project management skills preferred
Current Montana license as a Registered Nurse
Current Montana driver’s license and the ability to be insured to operate Billings Clinic vehicles
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered
Able to provide home internet access and have personal cell phone
