Humana Lead Technology Leader - Pharmacy Dispensing Solutions in Billings, Montana


The Production Systems Management (PSM) Lead Technology Leadership Professional - Pharmacy Dispensing Solutions is responsible for all aspects of the production environment support strategy, Operational Excellence strategy and execution, and service level agreement (SLA) definition, measurement, and adherence. The Lead Technology Leadership Professional works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.


In this role, you would have a direct impact on the health and quality of life of over 100k of our members every single day. You will help drive our PSM excellence by driving our strategic direction in support technologies, monitoring, policy, and process. You will help drive the technical excellence of our production dispensing lines across the US by partnering with our partner engineering, operational, and IT teams to address current risks and issues and define future strategy and requirements.

The PSM Lead Technology Leadership Professional - Pharmacy Dispensing Solutions leads the technical and process strategy for the production support of the Humana Pharmacy production dispensing environment. Owns issue escalations and influences remediation strategies across business and IT teams. Influences operational teams, development teams, and peer PSM teams in areas of product development priorities, requirements, design, support strategy, and operational planning. Supports product evaluation and qualification on leading edge production monitoring and automation technology components. Advises executives to develop functional support strategies including the growth from new application development and intake. Leads associate and contractor resources in the development and continuous improvement of release readiness processes. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision. Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

The Humana Pharmacy dispensing environment has multiple high volume product dispensing lines in OH, AZ, and FL. Key technologies include networking performance monitoring, SQL Server database performance monitoring and tuning, Windows server and infrastructure health and performance monitoring, and vended application monitoring and support.

Required Qualifications

  • 6 or more years of Information Technology experience

  • 2 or more years of project leadership experience

  • Experience with SQL server database, windows server

  • Experience with high performance and time sensitive applications and infrastructure

  • Experience with monitoring and automation tools

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate effectively and deliver presentations to senior leaders

  • Advanced experience leading special projects and producing metrics, measurements and trend reports

  • Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS, MBA, or other Advanced Degree

  • Previous significant work leadership or management experience

  • Previous experience in dispensing or manufacturing line support

  • Experiencing working with international and vendor teams distributed across multiple sites

  • Demonstrated ability to run large scale, highly visible programs with responsibility for multiple project teams

  • Possess a solid understanding of operations, technology, communications and processes

  • Six Sigma certification

  • ITIL certification

For this job, associates are required to be fully COVID vaccinated (preferred) or undergo weekly COVID testing and wear a face covering while at work.
