The Library is seeking a Library Services Specialist IV for Children’s Services. This position provides an advanced level of administrative support to the department and function manager. Duties may include training of lower level library staff and volunteers. Work includes patron contract and customer service. The successful applicant must be proficient with computer applications.
This is an opportunity for someone that is enthusiastic about providing library services to children and families, planning programming activities and outreach and helping to develop our Children’s resources and collection. The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and be a team player that works well in a busy environment.
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: provide reference and reader’s advisory services to children ages 0-12, and to adults interested in materials for children; conduct tours of the Children’s area; and assist with the collection development.
Work Schedule: Tuesday through Saturday, 40 hours/week, one evening a week (11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.), and an occasional Friday night shift
Salary: $15.94/hour plus excellent benefits
• High school diploma or GED
• Three or more years of combined education, experience, or equivalent
• Experience with Library operations and knowledge of department or function operations
