MAINTENANCE WORKER / EQUIPMENT OPERATOR - COLLECTIONS - Three (3) Positions Available.The Collections Maintenance Worker / Equipment Operator performs a variety of semi-skilled and skilled maintenance and equipment related duties essential to operation of the Billings Regional Landfill. Duties require a variety of physical movements, lifting to 75 pounds, exposure to cold, heat, noise, outdoors, dust, vibration, confining workspace, chemicals, explosive materials, mechanical hazards, electrical hazards, and the ability to travel to different sites and to perform shift work as needed.Schedule: 40-hour work week, standard work hours and days to be determined. Work schedules and assignments could vary based on operational needs.Compensation: Salary at hiring will be dependent upon the applicant's experience. (The salary range shown reflects steps 3 and 6 of a 7-step pay scale.) Applicants starting as a Maintenance Worker typically advance to an Equipment Operator, step 2 at their 1-year anniversary. Step increases are awarded annually until the highest step is achieved, additional longevity pay is earned based on years of service and COLA increases are provided based on the negotiated Union contract each July. Vacation accruals begin immediately, increase with longevity and are available to use after your first 6 months on the job.- Maintenance Worker: $20.86 - $24.14 per hour.- Equipment Operator / Maintenance Worker: $22.36 - $25.87 per hour.Minimum Qualifications for Maintenance Worker:- Two (2) years of related work experience performing field maintenance and equipment operation duties.- Possession of a State of Montana Class B Type 2 commercial driver's license with air brake endorsement or must be obtained within 90 days of employment.Minimum Qualifications for Equipment Operator/Maintenance Worker:- Three (3) years of related work experience performing field maintenance and equipment operation duties utilizing a variety of construction equipment.- Possession of a State of Montana Class B Type 2 commercial driver's license with air brake endorsement.Preferred Skills/Qualifications for the Maintenance Worker and Equipment Operator/Maintenance Worker:- High School diploma or equivalent.- Knowledge of operations of various types of construction equipment and landfill activities.Equal Opportunity Employer.
