Looking for a motivated PA/NP to join our talented team of Urologists and APP’s. This individual will primarily support our Pediatric Urologist. It will include management of patients age 0 to 18 in the clinic and OR setting with clinic outreach to Boze
man and Great Falls.span>

Under clinical supervision of a physician and direct supervision of the Manager/Director, the Physician Assistant provides general medical care, treatment and health care services to patients within the scope of their licensure and expertise level of the supervising physician.

Essential Job Functions

• Supports and models behaviors consistent with the mission and philosophy of Billings Clinic and department/service.

• Examines p
atients and performs com
prehensive physical examination, compiles patient medical data including health history and results of physical examination.

• Administers or orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, laboratory, and other ancillary services as appropriate and differentiates between normal and abnormal information contained in the test results. (Patient Care, Testing Diagnostic Tests)

• Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing, wound care and managing infections within the scope of their licensure and the expertise level of the supervising physician. (Patient Care, Procedures, Midlevel Scope of Practice)

• Formulates diagnosis of medical problem, develops, implements and monitors patient care plans, records progress notes and assists in the provision of continuity of care; conferring with the supervising physician as necessary and/or appropriate. (Patient Care, Treatment plan, Patient Care Plan)

• Instructs and counsels patients and families regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens. (Education, Patient, Educates Patient)

• Refers patients to other health care providers and appropriate sources of care as necessary.

Additional Duties for PA/NP - Surgical


Assists the physician in all aspects of surgical procedures. Assists surgeon with instruments, supplies, equipment, and retraction during surgical procedures. (Patient Care, Procedures, Assist Surgeon Providers)


Maintains appropriate theoretical and clinical skills with application and patient relevance of commonly utilized equipment specific to the surgeon’s needs for the specialty/department and other areas as appropriate; pharmacological application; application of laboratory values and radiologic findings with disease process or physiological status. Performs wound exposure, suturing, hemostasis and tissue handling procedures as training and skill level allows under the direct supervision

Assists physician with post operative follow-up care in both the hospital and/or clinic. Instructs and counsels patients and families regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens. (Patient Care, Surgical Services Post Op Care)


Adheres to universal and sterile field protocols during operative procedures. Assist with room flow in the operating room. Knowledgeable in instrumentation and patient positioning. (Patient Care, Surgical Services, Sterile Field)

Additional Duties for PA/NP - ED Locums and Rural CAH/RHC

• Provides relief coverage in the emergency department and assists the physicians in all aspects of care in the emergency department. (Patient Care, ED, Coverage)

• Maintains appropriate theoretical and clinical skills with application and patient relevance of commonly utilized equipment specific to the emergency department needs and other areas as appropriate; pharmacological application; application of laboratory values and radiologic findings with disease process or physiological status. Additional Duties for PA/NP for REI/IVF

• Conducts evaluation of patient health status/maintenance prior to fertility care. Co-manages fertility treatment, fertility medications and IVF cycle preparation. Performs intrauterine inseminations.

• Performs diagnostic medical testing to include:

• GYN ultrasound

• OB ultrasound to 7 weeks gestational age

• Hysterosalpingogram

• Salinesonohysterogram

• Follicular monitoring Trial transfer

• Performs IUD insertion and removal and endometrial biopsies.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Graduate Degree from accredited Physician Assistant program / Nurse Practitioners’ program

Certifications and Licenses

• Current National Commission on Certification of Physicians Assistants (NCCPA) Board Certification/License as Physician Assistant

• Approved to practice as a physician assistant in Montana or Wyoming by Board of Medical Examiners

• Healthcare Provider CPR Certification; additional CPR certifications may be required depending on the patient population and/or service area
