Radiology RPA / RRA

RADIOLOGY-DIAGNOSTIC (Billings Clinic Main Campus)


Shift: Day

Employment Status: Full-Time (.75 or greater)

Hours per Pay Period: 1.00 = 80 hours (Exempt)

Under the clinical supervision of the Radiologist and direct supervision of the Director, the Radiology Practitioner Assistant (RPA or RA) provides a broad range of radiology diagnostic services to patients within the scope of their licensure and expertise level.

Essential Job Functions

•Supports and models behaviors consistent with the mission and philosophy of DBC and department/service.

•Under the clinical supervision of the Radiologist, performs the following radiology diagnostic procedures including but not limited to:

Fluoroscopic procedures (static and dynamic)


Peripheral venograms

Off-site fluoroscopy procedures for Regional Radiology clients

Catheter removal

Replacement of J and G tubes

Providing naso-enteric and oro-enteric feeding tube placement

Assisting radiologist with invasive procedures

•Evaluates and screens medical images for normal verses abnormal and communicates findings to the supervising radiologist for interpretation.

•Assesses and evaluates the physiologic and psychological responsiveness of each patient.

•Participates in patient management, including acquisition of additional imaging for complete of the exam and recording documentation in medical records.

•Administers intravenous contrast media or glucagon, under the supervision of the radiologist.

•Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.

•Maintains competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency safety standards relevant to job performance.

•Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

Minimum Qualifications


Graduate of an educational program recognized by the (CBPRA) Certification Board for Radiology Practitioner Assistants
