Intermountain Health Registered Nurse Cardiac Cath Lab in Billings, Montana

Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.

Scope

Our Cath Lab has six state-of-the-art procedure rooms for performing numerous heart and vessel imaging studies and treatments. In the Cath Lab, highly trained specialists identify and diagnose heart problems, use medicines to dissolve blood clots, re-open blood vessels, and remove obstructions within blood vessels.  Within the Cath Lab is our specialized Electrophysiology Lab (EP). Here, patients experiencing irregular heart rates (arrhythmias) can undergo diagnostic exams to identify the specific cause of the problem or to receive life-saving treatments such as pacemakers, defibrillator implants, or ablations. 

  

We have 2 Cath labs, 1 EP lab, 1 hybrid lab, 1 Biplane and 1 Angio suite.  We are an accredited chest pain center with a strong STEMI program.  Our labs perform all forms of cardiac and peripheral interventional procedures, structural heart, and neurological procedures. We work in teams of 3-4, consisting of a radiologic technologist, an RN, and a circulator.

Your day.

  As a Cath Lab RN you need to know how to:  

  • Recognize and address patients’ psychological and physical needs 

  • Foster continuity and quality of care with the best interest and well-being of patients and their families in mind 

  • Assess a patients’ medical status upon admission 

  • Assist in developing individualized treatment plans 

  • Comply with evaluation,treatment and documentation guidelines 

Minimum Qualifications

  • ASN from an accredited program

  • Current Montana RN license

  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association

  • Two year of nursing experience in a comparable setting, preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing.

  • Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.

  • See and read computer monitors and documents.

  • Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.

  • May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$35.70 - $50.50
