Financial Analyst FINANCE (Billings Clinic Main Campus) req1112 Shift:
Day Employment Status: Full-Time (.75 or greater) Hours per Pay Period:
1.00 = 80 hours(Exempt) Starting Wage DOE: $68,411 - $85,862 Financial
Analysts are required to work independently with minimal supervision and
are responsible for continual analysis, development, maintenance,
improvement and evaluation of clinical and/or financial data system
applications. Works collectively with other analysts in completion of
clinical and/or financial analyses. Responsible for extracting,
understanding, sharing and presenting information from decision support
and accounting systems with Billings Clinic and/or subsidiary
leadership, management, medical staff and all others necessary.
Essential Job Functions • Supports and models behaviors consistent with
the mission and philosophy of Billings Clinic and department/service. •
Works in concert with other Financial Analysts in accessing, extracting,
synthesizing and verifying clinical and/or financial information. •
Summarizes clinical and/or financial information for formal
presentation, including interpretation of data and supporting
recommendations based on findings. • Responsible for establishing and
maintaining integrity of decision support information systems. •
Identifies the data required and the internal/external means to gather
that data. Prepares quantitative and qualitative analyses within
required deadlines and within Billings Clinic financial policies and
procedures. • Identifies end user needs for information and designs,
implements and monitors systems that collect the information. Provides
timely and meaningful financial analysis and assistance to all levels of
management and other customers. • Serves as a subject matter expert for
leadership, department management and appropriate staff regarding the
inter-relationships of data. • Takes proactive approach to identifying
problems and opportunities and recommending solutions that support the
strategic direction of the department or the organization. • Utilizes
performance improvement principles to assess departmental and
organizational gaps in performance and identify ways to improve quality
and reduce waste. • Identifies individual educational needs and sets
goals for own growth and development; meets all mandatory organizational
skill requirements and departmental knowledge requirements. • Maintains
competency in all organizational, departmental and outside agency
environmental, employee or patient safety standards relevant to job
performance. • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the
needs of the department/organization. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities •
Ability to deal with difficult or emergent situations calmly and
professionally and effectively manage conflict • Ability to lead and/or
facilitate a variety of teams and/or initiatives with Billings Clinic
leadership and presenting information to diverse groups of Billings
Clinic staff • Ability to act as a subject matter expert on finance
related issues and respond to a variety of questions and assist with
problem resolution • Ability to independently lead and manage cross
functional projects across the entire organization. • Assist in
mentoring Level 1 analysts in departmental and organization wide
processes. • Acts as a resource to other Accounting or Decision Support
staff responding to a variety of questions and assisting with problem
resolution • Directs and/or leads various projects or initiatives •
Assist in mentoring Level 1 analysts in departmental and organization
wide processes. • The nature of the outputs generated by this position
have far reaching impacts that affect the current and future financial
viability of Billings Clinic • Accuracy and integrity of the information
provided is critical • Ability to extract data from accounting and
decision support systems. • Understand overhead allocation process,
capital process, productivity process, budgeting process, reimbursement
methodologies and processes, validation of Operational Excellence
projects, development of proformas and long-range financial plans. •
High degree of skill using Excel, Access, and PowerPoint and query tools
• Ability to mentor individuals and teach financial processes and
concepts across a broad range of functions and levels of expertise. •
Must be successfully meeting all performance expectations and standards
to be considered for promotion • Must be at least a 0.8 FTE • Billings
Clinic and/or subsidiary policy and procedures, both organizational and

and presentation materials which are accurate, concise and

Completes assignments of a broad nature while exercising considerable
independent judgment and originality. • This position interacts
primarily with management personnel and is viewed as a position that
should bring significant value to Billings Clinic and its subsidiaries
by proactively bringing solutions and recommendations to the
organization. Minimum Qualifications Education • Bachelors degree in
business, accounting, financial management or related field Experience •
Eight (8) years of professional experience • Hospital experience is
strongly preferred. • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of: •
Federal, state and other regulatory requirements and standards •
Detailed and in-depth understanding of the health care system and
reimbursement methodologies • Governmental reporting for health care
organizations • Automated budget and accounting systems • Broad
understanding of business processes of the entire organization. Billings
