Provides discipline team supervision by directing project execution activities and discipline deliverable creation for one large or several smaller projects. Completes discipline technical work for projects, as time permits.
Develop complex equipment and piping layout that will satisfy all technical requirements on a project from the preliminary design stage through the detail design stage and review the work for the assigned area as being developed by a design team. Have a working knowledge of all safety, maintainability and operability layout requirements.
Coordinate area design assignments with designers in adjacent design areas.
Produce or assist less experienced designers in producing finished Piping Design deliverables through the use of CADWorx.
Check, or supervise the checking of design and deliverables as prepared by other designers for accuracy, completeness and compliance with company and project specifications and standards.
Produce Piping Design schedules and estimates for personnel hours and material requirements
Maintain project controls and records as required.
Assist in the training and development of Piping Design personnel and evaluate the work of others.
May be required to climb ladders and stairs during field site visits.
Should have past experience working in refineries and similar downstream facilities.
What you will bring
Technical and Industry Experience:
Typically minimum of 12 years progressively responsible piping related design and layout experience in downstream Refinery, Oil & Gas industry.
Some field experience in live refinery plants required,
Strong written and verbal communication skills are critical.
Usually able to explain why things are done the way they are within a broader organizational context.
Commitment to customer service and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Ability to maintain confidential information critical.
