Staff Technical Program Manager, STIGs Compliance

The Program Manager for STIGs Compliance is responsible for authoring, tracking STIGs relevant issues to closure, writing STIGs automation content, and working with DISA to steer the DISA STIG validation process. By aligning internal Engineering and Product Management resources and personnel, tracking technical requirements, and interacting with external testing facilities and DISA, the Program Manager ensures project success. The Program Manager interacts internally with Engineering, Product Management, Sales and other personnel to provide guidance and explanations of STIG processes, and reports project status and milestones to leadership.


  • Own and drive STIG/DISA-ready Hardening Guide development projects including scoping applicable SRGs from product architecture designs; authoring and editing SRG content; and identification of risks and mediation plans and documentation while working with cross-functional product teams.

  • Subject matter expert by maintaining in depth STIG expertise and providing timely guidance to product and Field teams for strategic direction, scope and deliver enablement content effectively to technical post sales and pre-sales audiences

  • Exercising diplomatic stewardship with DISA to be abreast of evolving standards requirements in this space, and ensure proposed regulatory requirements do not adversely impact future product plans

  • Perform product-level security hardening testing and automation; authoring, editing, and reviewing product technical documents


  • Must have experience with the full lifecycle of STIG development, and have engaged with DISA on multiple STIG efforts

  • Must have experience writing compliance automation content in at least Ansible, Inspec and PowerCLI

  • Must have experience scoping a STIG project and working from that scope to final product

  • Must know and be able to communicate real world customer STIG requirements and pain points; develop internal enablement content and deliver effectively to technical post sales and pre-sales audiences

  • Must have experience producing clear deliverables and be self-driven to lead cross functional product teams to deliver on defined timelines

  • Must have experience working with and coordinating across numerous products and functional teams

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of stakeholders

  • Knowledge of Public Sector Compliances like FIPS and FedRAMP a plus

  • MS/BS technical degree or equivalent
