YELLOWSTONE COUNTY YOUTH SERVICE CENTER DIRECTOR in BILLINGS, Montana

Yellowstone County is seeking a Youth Service Center Director to manage a 24 hours a day, 365 days a year Juvenile Detention Facility and shelter care program. The Director position has responsibility for crucial services within the juvenile justice system in Yellowstone County and throughout Montana. The position also requires the ability to maintain strong working relationships within a complicated network of entities within the juvenile justice system. Examples of Duties: - Trains, assigns, prioritizes, directs, manages, supervises and evaluates the work and activities of Youth Services Center employees; - Prepares annual budget for the Youth Services Center in collaboration with the County's Finance Director and monitors expenditures of funds; - Develops goals, plans and measurements for the identification and evaluation of the Youth Services Center needs; - Plans, directs and supervises the operations and activities of the County's Youth Services Center; - Recruitment of all center employees in accordance with prescribed policies and procedures; - Prepares payroll reports for all Youth Services Center staff on a monthly basis; - Oversees researching, writing, and administration of grants appropriate to Youth Services Center program goals; - Implements Youth Services Center policies, rules and regulations; - Attends meetings, conferences, and workshops as requested and authorized; and - Performs related work as required. Minimum Qualifications: - Graduation from a college or university of recognized standing with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field; and - A minimum of four (4) years? experience working in a Detention Facility setting, or Juvenile Probation, or counseling youth in crisis; or - Any equivalent combination of experience and training totaling eight (8) years. - A Master's Degree is desired. - Driver's License issued by the State of Montana; - CPR and First Aid Certification within 6-month probationary period.
