The starting wage depends on education and experience. The starting wage for someone with no Registrar experience is as follows:

-Associate's degree starts at $17.70 (0 years of experience) up to $21.57 (10 years of experience)

-Bachelor's degree starts at $19.46 (0 years of experience) up to $23.73 (10 years of experience)

JOB SUMMARY: Stone Child College is seeking a dedicated and dynamic individual to join our team as the Scholarship Officer/Career Counselor. The Scholarship Officer/Career Counselor is responsible for managing the Self Governance Higher Education Program (HEP), Adult Vocational Training (AVT), Graduate Scholarship Program (GRAD), Direct Employment Assistance Program (DEAP), Stone Child College scholarships, AARP scholarship, and serve as a Career Counselor to students by assisting them in exploring career interests.

JOB DUTIES: • Ensure the rules, regulations, and reporting deadlines of the Self-Governance Higher Education Program (HEP), Adult Vocational Training (AVT), Graduate Scholarship Program (GRAD) and Direct Employment Assistance Program (DEAP), Chippewa Cree Tribe, Stone Child College, State and Federal Government are met. • Complete annual requests for funding to the Chippewa Cree Tribal Business Committee. The requests must include the proposed budgets and justification. • Verify applicants are enrolled with the Chippewa Cree Tribe of the Rocky Boy's Indian Reservation. • Advertise applications processes and deadlines for application submission for each program. Will notify applicants of their application status and send award letters. • Assist Applicants with the online application process for each program. • Monitor progress of recipients utilizing mid-term grade report and end of term grade reports. Prepare and send notice of probation and/or termination status letters for participants as needed. • Monitor Stone Child College HEP and AVT scholarship recipient's class attendance and academic progress. Prepare letters of probation or termination as needed. • Monitor student funding to ensure students are not under or overfunded. Utilize needs analysis and personal contact with financial aid officers. • Ensure students are paid on a regular and timely basis. • Establish, maintain, and monitor records and documents for the Self-Governance Programs. • Maintain accurate filing system for the students and programs; and accurate records on student funding history, credits and grades earned. • Responsible for preparing all program payment SRF to be signed by director. • Maintain confidentiality of records. • Review policy manuals for Self-Governance programs annually and update as needed. • Monitor and maintain online application for scholarship program, suggest changes as needed. • Manage Stone Child College Scholarships: Margaret "Peggy" Nagel Memorial Scholarship and the Chippewa Cree Graduate Scholarship Program. • Manage AARP Scholarship. • Conduct workshops on a variety of topics (resume writing, job interviewing, career development, etc.) • Plan and Coordinate Career Fairs/Workshops • Collaborate with organizations within the community to determine job needs • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: • Bachelor's degree preferred, associate degree required. • Knowledge of higher education and academic processes. • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. • Experience using Microsoft Office products -- Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, etc. • Experience managing federally funded programs preferred. • Experience in grant writing, proposals and budgets preferred. • The employee may be required to travel throughout the county, state, and out of state.
