General Statement
The Center for American Indian & Rural Health Equity ( CAIRHE ) is an official state of Montana research center designated by the Montana University System Board of Regents. CAIRHE’s mission is to reduce significant health disparities in Native and rural communities through community-based participatory research ( CBPR ) that is considerate of and consistent with their cultural beliefs. CAIRHE serves the people of Montana as a robust, interdisciplinary research center with strong engagement in communities across the state.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work closely with grant managers and Core directors to facilitate overall operations, project purchasing, and other administrative duties.
Perform some accounting tasks and assist with budgeting functions for all CAIRHE grants.
Assist with all Center events, including travel coordination for speakers and staff, booking lodging and event facilities, hospitality coordination, and post travel documents.
Assist with a rural research project by managing the budget, organizing community and research meetings, and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Progressive experience in administrative and clerical support, or an equivalent amount of education and/or experience.
Demonstrated experience organizing and prioritizing multiple duties, meeting deadlines, and exercising adaptability to changing priorities while maintaining a positive, effective, and professional attitude.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Experience working with Indigenous Communities.
Experience with grant management.
Experience in Event Coordination.
Knowledge of Community Based Research and/or experience in community-engagement.

Continued employment is contingent upon grant funding. Hours may vary depending upon the level of work needed.
Some instate travel could be required for CAIRHE events.
