Bozeman Health BARISTA in Bozeman, Montana
The Barista position performs a variety of food service assignments in the preparation and service of customers. This position is largely responsible for the quality of food, beverage and service to our customers. Areas of responsibility may include The Daily Perk, Second Cup, Cafeteria, Catering and Dish Room.
Ability to read, perform basic math, write and follow verbal and written directions
High School Diploma
LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION
On the job training provided.
Similar work experience or previous food service experience preferred.
1 year previous Barista experience
Cash register operations preferred
KNOWLEDGE OF, SKILLS IN, ABILITY TO, COMPLEXITY AND DIFFICULY:
Personal computers, hardware, basic software programs including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets
Food safety and santitation standards preferred
Point of Sales cash register system (cafeteria only)
Oral and written communication skills
Basic computer knowledge
Cusomer service including intrapersonal skills
Cash handling and cash register operations (cafeteria only)

Maintain flexibility to adapt to a variety of workload assignments.
Attend staff meetings and in-services
Physically and mentally capable of performing all duties of the position
Keep Coordinator/Manager apprised of situations directly affecting the patient food service operations.
Work independently with minimal supervision.
COMPLEXITY AND DIFFICULTY:
40% Time Spent - Prepares & Serves Menu Items
Prepares beverages and serves food to customers
Assists in the preparation and packing of food items.
10% Time Spent - Operate cash register
Operates cash register and complies with cash handling procedures.
10% Time Spent - Cleaning / Sanitation
Cleans equipment and maintains overall sanitation standards.
10% Time Spent - Stocks
Gathers and puts away inventory and stock
10% Time Spent - ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Works as a team member to cover breaks and assist other units.
Works in the cafeteria, serving, cash register, dish room as assigned
Records department statistics and other information.
Participates in department meetings and councils.
Assists with other areas of responsibility in the absence of Manager/Coordinators or as assigned.
