KXLF Communications, a Cordillera Communications company, has an immediate opening for Chief Engineer at KBZK Bozeman and KXLF Butte in Montana. The Chief Engineer is responsible for all technical aspects of the installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of computer, studio, microwave, translator, and transmitter facilities. Other responsibilities include strategic planning for all aspects of technical and engineering functions and management of the stations technical maintenance and master control staff.DUTIESPlan, manage, train, and coordinate engineering staff activitiesSupervise preventive maintenance and/or troubleshooting on any electronic device or support electronics whether in-house or installed at transmitter; including but not limited to: cameras, video equipment, audio equipment, processing and monitoring equipment, microwave transmitters and receivers, satellite receivers, and computing equipment Supervise and/or perform transmitter maintenance of all transmittersAssist and advise in planning of future equipment installations, requirements, and budgetary recommendations Supervise maintenance of computer software, hardware, and local area network applications on systems throughout the stationEstablish the procedures to ensure that all IT equipment is operational and secureKeep software versions up to date. Insures software license compliance. Follows all corporate directives for IT security Respond to trouble calls with broadcast/computer equipment and physical plantOther duties as assigned by Station Manager and VP of EngineeringHOURSDue to the nature of the business (we broadcast between the hours of 5am-1am) the hours require considerable flexibility however; a typical day is Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with a one hour lunch built in.BENEFITSMedical and Dental insurance available after 30 days.EDUCATION REQUIRED:Bachelors degree in electronics or electrical engineering and/or a two-year electronics degree is preferred.
