Bozeman, Montana: With six major mountain ranges surrounding the community, three blue ribbon rivers, five golf courses, three world class skiing resorts, 284 mountain trails, Montana State University, and the gateway town to Yellowstone National Park, it's no wonder Bozeman appeared as No. 2 on the top 10 list for bizjournals.com's list of American "dream towns." Bozeman High has been ranked on Newsweek's top-schools list five times since 2003. Seventy-four percent of the community's 41,000 residents have some post-secondary education. University graduates, along with industry-experienced newcomers seeking a higher quality of life, provide a brain pool for the area's mix of expanding businesses. Because of its access to some of the best ski mountains in the United States, SKI Magazine has ranked Bozeman as the #4 ski town in the country. Powder Magazine ranked Bozeman in the "top 32 ski towns in North America" and National Geographic, placed Bozeman in the "World's 25 Best Ski Towns." In addition, Outside Magazine has ranked Bozeman as the 5th best college town in the United States, and ranks the city 15th in the United States for access to outside sports. This active outdoor lifestyle is coupled with a strong work ethic that has enabled Bozeman to rank number one as a business climate among cities under 100,000 in the United States, by American City Business Journals. With tons of great cultural events and the great outdoors it isn't what to do in Bozeman, but what not to do because there are so many activities--snow or sunshine. And, if staying around is not enough, we have an international airport with direct flights to 10+ major US cities. OUTPATIENT PULMONOLOGY Bozeman Health Medical Group is recruiting an ambulatory pulmonologist. This is an employed position with the only hospital based multi-specialty group in the region. The practice is currently based in a large multi-specialty office with at least 2 exam rooms per provider and a full array of support staff. EPIC EMR is in place with proactive IT support. Outpatient office hours are 8:30am - 5:00pm and after hours and weekend coverage are provided by the inpatient pulmonology and critical care team. No Call! Clinic population- some bad COPD, much ILD, Much Group 3 pulm HTN, some Group 1 related to CTD. We see a decent amount of sarcoid though we do not have much of an African American population. Also, decent amount of lung nodules We do about 150 out pt bronchs per year. I think we will do about 40 EBUS in a year and possibly growing rapidly We have a full time sleep doc. He takes all the new sleep referrals. Pulm manages pulm HTN and the corresponding drugs. 12-14 patients on clinic days with 2-3 new patients and the rest are follow ups. They are booked as 30 min or 60 min slots. The current wait times for new patients is infinite. We basically look through the new consults and prioritize what which patients we feel are the most pressing and see those in what we think is a timely fashion 1 week to 2 months and the remainder go into a "next available" pile. We have about 100 patients waiting to be scheduled We are doing branch/ebus and CT perc lung bx. We also have a full time general surgeon that does surgical wedge/lobes and a CT surgeon from AZ that comes up for more difficult cases. We do send pt for lung surgery to Billings if that is their preference We currently prioritize cases that the cancer center refers to us. That being said, we envision that whoever takes the pulm job will routinely go to Tuesday noon tumor board, improve the quality and quantity of EBUS, poss nav bronch. They occasionally ask for airway interventions (stents or endobronchial tumor removal) which none of us currently do There is plenty of opportunities for bronchoscopies and we have equip for EBUS bronchoscopy if that is an interest.
