Oracle Cloud Services Delivery Architect Lead - US Nationwide in Bozeman, Montana

Partners with customers, sales, engineering and product teams to design, demonstrate and deploy Oracle Cloud architectures that address customer business problems. Drives Oracle Cloud customer consumption by accelerating the adoption of Oracle cloud services including discovery, design and deployment.

Responsible for providing leadership and expertise in the development and strategic direction of new solutions, products and processes. Acts as a primary consultant on large projects that effect the organization's long term objectives and strategy. Continuous interaction with C level. Focuses on entire market segments, large groups of significant customers, builds leadership relationships at multiple levels within organizations in order to design and implement solutions. Works directly with customers to gather requirements, develop architectures and translates complex business needs into solutions. May implement solutions and ensure successful deployments through code development and scripting. Displays product/application understanding through highly customized presentation demonstrations to customers and at conferences and events. Supports customer from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services via resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training. Creates and distributes technical assets (white papers, solution code, blog posts, and video demonstrations). Serves as an acknowledged authority for customers and sales on technical cloud solutions and customer success. Identifies gaps and enhancements to influence engineering roadmaps for customer driven features. Maintains expertise by staying current on emerging technologies.

Minimum qualifications include: 15 years experience with computer applications and tools required. Ability to travel 50% international and domestic. Preferred but not required qualifications include: Bachelor of Science-level university degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering from accredited university; and/or relevant 15 years technical experience. Advanced degree in relevant field of studies highly desirable. Expertise in and an in depth and thorough knowledge of penetrating accounts, meeting stakeholders within accounts, and interaction with C level; Competitive and industry knowledge in the field of computer applications and tools; System and application design; Implementation of advanced product features; Project management; Solving technical problems with customers in technical environments; Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; Needs analysis, positioning, and business justification. 15 years experience and expertise in the clear communication of technical information to others through presentations, demonstrations, written communication and consultative solutioning experience.

Cloud Services Delivery Architect Lead - US Nationwide

Mission:

The team provides architecture specialists that deliver implementation services that align with and support the North America Sales organization and Oracle customer base. The team consists of highly skilled consultants with deep technical knowledge that provide expert architecture guidance and implementation assistance with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) services and Oracle infrastructure technology.

Some of the responsibilities include:

  • Accelerate IaaS & PaaS adoption and usage by customer

  • Assist Cloud sales and cloud engineering teams to architect and scope service engagements and solutions that grow Oracle Cloud adoption

  • Provide overall technical implementation leadership and drive to successful production implementation

  • Provide feedback to OCI Product Engineering teams regarding product deficiencies and enhancements

Job Description:

The Cloud Database Architect is a hands-on role focused on designing and implementing customer solutions on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and providing technical leadership/mentoring to junior delivery resources.

This individual serves as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor who facilitates the migration and deployment of workloads from on-premise environments or other 3rd party Clouds, to OCI. He/She works closely with key customers, to provide technical know-how, architectural guidance, and detailed design and implementation expertise, with the primary objective of assisting customers in getting to production status, and realizing the business value of the solution in OCI.

The Cloud Services Delivery Architect manages creation and delivery of technical content, including detailed Cloud designs that function as build specifications, technical oversight of OCI build and migration efforts, and focus on automation and reusability.

In this role, the architect will engage with a wide cross section of internal and external stakeholders – Sales, Cloud Engineering, Development, Support, and third-party partners to drive cloud adoption efforts. Desired Skills and Experience:

  • 20 years of work experience in any combination of engineering, cloud solution architecture and consulting in cloud computing, with increasing responsibilities.

  • Able to define and scope work that will be delivered by an off-shore delivery team.

  • Hands on skills with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or solutions from other providers, such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure etc. would be of advantage, especially with PaaS and IaaS.

  • Cloud deployment automation experience with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef

  • Experience migrating workloads from on-premises into Cloud, or between Clouds.

  • Good understanding of general storage technologies, implementation methods and techniques.

  • Good understanding of IaaS Compute and operating systems, and compute migration methodologies and implementation techniques.

  • Knowledge and understanding of DevOps and cloud computing with hands-on experience in any of the following technologies is strong plus:

o GIT, Chef / Puppet, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, and Mezos.

o Experience with scripting languages, such as Python and Bash

  • Working knowledge of Active Directory

  • Networking and Virtualization expertise With Oracle VM, VMWare, KVM, Hyper-V

  • Strong background in Oracle on-premise technology products, database (RAC, Data Guard, Golden Gate)

  • Analysis of cloud strategies, design and development of tools for Oracle products deployment in OCI.

  • Proven ability in performing rapid assessments of clients’ internal technology landscape and targeting use cases and deployments for Oracle Cloud technology.

  • Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent work experience

  • Ability to travel throughout the US and Canada
