Oracle Customer Marketing Program and Content Director Startups, Partners, Oracle@Oracle in Bozeman, Montana

Responsible for driving the customer marketing strategy by defining, building and executing programs that deliver a steady stream of well-targeted customer reference assets and activities to support awareness, demand generation, and sales as well as connecting them with the right advisory initiatives and inviting and connecting them with the appropriate peer groups.

Drive the customer marketing strategy, define and build programs, and execute a detailed plan that delivers a steady stream of customer success stories and references to support awareness, demand generation and sales cycles. Advocate on behalf of Oracle customers by connecting and enrolling them in appropriate advocate program elements and take a team-based approach to keeping customers engaged with Oracle. The success of this role means higher customer satisfaction, retention and expansion of Oracle business. Develop a trusted advisor relationship with customer stakeholders and executive sponsors to drive product adoption and ensure they are leveraging our solution to achieve maximum business value. Acquire a deep knowledge of our customer base, existing customer story content, mine and use that content to increase its effectiveness, and manage that content to increase usability and visibility. Understand and support the needs of internal and external stakeholders, and communicate their needs. Connect them with the right advisory initiatives and invite and connect them with the appropriate peer groups and develop reciprocal advocacy relationships. Match sales reference requests to appropriate references in a consultative model. Identify top reference accounts and cultivate champions within those accounts to speak to press and analysts, take sales reference calls, and participate in marketing activities (case studies, awards, videos, reference forums, speaking opportunities)

Acknowledged authority within the Corporation. Acts as a leader of large-scale company initiatives. Viewed by peers as a leader and top contributor and by line management as a key business partner. 12 years of Marketing experience in the technology industry preferred, preferably software industry. Experience should include relationship management. Conversant in Oracle technology and product strategies. Ability to determine strategy and tactical plans that deliver tangible results. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. BA/BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable. Experience with communities a plus.

This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

In this role, you will lead a community of customer advocates to evangelize Oracle’s commitment to customers and its world-class solutions. This role is ideal for a leader who is mission-driven, understands the priorities and enjoys getting to know customers, learning about their successes, building trust - then helping spread those stories through the right channels.

You will drive the strategy for multiple global programs that target and engage executive decision-makers, creating a positive experience for both Oracle and our customers. The goals of these programs are to gain mindshare, build deeper relationships with key decision-makers, and champion their success stories via compelling storytelling.

You will shine a positive light on these customers and help build their brands, while also helping target customers become more aware of Oracle and the solutions we offer.

You will use your exceptional program management skills to manage participation and engagement across our product portfolio, engaging with Marketing, Product Development, Sales, Customer Success Management and other stakeholders.

Your excellent communication skills will ensure all stakeholders are informed and teams are working together to deliver a high-quality experience.

Your executive-level storytelling, writing and campaign design skills will result in high quality and engaging content that promotes compelling stories.

  • Exceeding our goals for referenceability including customer success stories and other reference assets.

  • Being a trusted advisor on all customer-related issues for our stakeholders in Development, Marketing, Sales and Executive team.

  • Evaluate, measure and report on strategic effectiveness and ROI.

  • Partner with our stakeholders to create a premier group of customer heroes willing to ‘help us move’ when called upon for analyst discussions, presentations, and promotion.

  • Create programs and leverage opportunities that focus on building relationships and giving back to our advocate community through meaningful interaction relating to their professional strategies and personal goals.

  • Participate in Leadership Councils, Customer Advisory Boards, and Oracle and Industry events to identify and enroll customers.

  • Use your excellent storytelling and writing capabilities to drive the creation and promotion of compelling customer stories and thought leadership pieces.

  • Manage the creation and deployment of internal and external assets that promote wins, expansions, and go-lives and highlight the overall success of our customers in innovative and relevant formats including customer videos, articles, blog posts, conference presentations, and more.

  • Work on multiple, simultaneous exciting programs that require both strategic thinking as well as high-speed tactical execution.

  • Travel for events as needed. Travel estimated to be<25%.


  • A mission-driven digital-savvy leader with at least 12 years of marketing experience

  • 5-10 years successfully leading teams and managing collaboration and innovation across multiple areas and locations

  • Progressive experience in content development

  • Strong teamwork, interpersonal and relationship-building skills

  • History of developing strong relationships at executive levels

  • Bachelor or Masters’ degree in business, marketing, communications, or relevant field of study

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, thought leadership, and business judgment

  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills

  • Flexibility and ability to adapt and adjust to new business demands together with a sense of mission and urgency

  • Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills, including communicating effectively with both business and technical teams, and senior executives
