Bozeman Health Facilities Maintenance Technician- Main Campus (Casual Call, Day Shift) in Bozeman, Montana

Position Summary:

The Facilities Maintenance Technician supports the daily mechanical operations of the hospital, medical office buildings, physical plant and grounds by performing routine maintenance around the buildings designated during each shift. The Technician is also responsible for security during dayshift hours by locking and unlocking of buildings, security systems, and responding to Code Gray pages.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • One (1) year of technical trade school or equivalent training in building maintenance

Essential Job Functions:

In addition to the essential functions of the job listed below, employees must have on-time completion of all required education as assigned per DNV requirements, Bozeman Health policy, and other registry requirements.

  • Perform daily rounds through areas of responsibility, make repairs as required and/ or trouble-shoot equipment and/or facility problems

  • Perform basic plumbing work (shutting off valves, unclogging of toilets, leaks, etc)

  • Perform basic electrical work (resetting breakers, changing ballasts, light bulb replacements, switch replacements, etc)

  • Perform basic HVAC work (preventive maintenance of air units, etc).

  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and systems on a scheduled basis

  • Consult with customer departments on equipment replacement, facility renovations and/or interior improvement

  • Coordinate with vendors or contractors to coordinate necessary facility repairs or renovations

  • Maintain complete documentation of work orders, status and progress

Schedule Requirements

  • This role requires regular and sustained attendance.

  • The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.

  • On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.

  • infectious diseases due to contact with patients in areas that may have contagious illnesses.
