Williams Plumbing / Civil Construction Field Mechanic in Bozeman, Montana
Williams is hiring a Field Mechanic! The Field Mechanic diagnoses, adjusts, repairs, and overhauls mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and heavy iron equipment, such as bulldozers, graders, and excavators, used in construction.

What You'll Do:
Equipment Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough inspections of heavy equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Routine Maintenance and Repairs: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on civil construction equipment to include: bulldozers, graders, and excavators to ensure optimal functionality. Execute repairs on engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and other components as needed.
Field Service and Emergency Response: Respond promptly to field service requests and breakdowns, traveling to job sites to address equipment issues.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and maintenance activities performed on each piece of equipment.
What You Bring:
Five years experience as a field mechanic, with a focus on heavy iron equipment.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
Proficient in using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical manuals.
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus. Graduation from an accredited technical school in diesel engine or earthmoving repair or equivalent verifiable field experience. (preferred)
Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
Ability to obtain Class-A CDL within 6 months of employment.
May be subject to drug testing and medical exams.
