POSITION
In this role, the Manager will be hands-on and responsible for the long-term initiative of leading and championing the growth of the new grants administration function. This includes developing and establishing the grants writing program and processes while supporting short-term goals of identifying, writing, and securing funding for grant opportunities for our civil water/wastewater engineering projects. These responsibilities include:
Develop, establish, and implement a grant writing function in the firm.
Research and identify potential grant opportunities from federal, state, and local government agencies.
Partner with our clients and project teams on funding opportunities available and requirements to secure grants.
Write and submit grant applications, ensuring they meet all funding requirements and deadlines.
Develop compelling narratives and detailed budgets for grant applications with assistance from the water/wastewater project team.
Collaborate with market group staff to gather necessary information and documentation.
Maintain a comprehensive database of grant opportunities, applications, and outcomes.
Monitor the status of submitted grants and follow up as needed with the client, funders, and project team.
Prepare and submit required reports for awarded grants.
Review budgets and invoices and follow accounting principles to prepare and submit draw-down requests.
Work closely with the water/wastewater market group staff to understand project needs and objectives.
Work with clients to conduct public hearings/meetings to gather input and feedback on proposed projects and grant applications.
Help clients to gather information and complete critical steps in the grant application process.

YOUR STRENGTHS
Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Management, English, Communications, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in grant writing with a successful track record of securing funding and administering grants.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong research and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
PREFERRED STRENGTHS
Experience in the water/wastewater sector or a related infrastructure field.
Knowledge of Oregon and Washington infrastructure grant programs.
Knowledge of federal grant regulations and guidelines.
