The Gianforte School of Computing serves more than 600 Montana State University students with computing-related degrees and minors. We aspire to serve 1,000 students in the future! The Outreach Coordinator will help us increase the number of future MSU students pursuing computing-related opportunities by spearheading outreach activities to K-12 students.
Duties and Responsibilities
Organize computing-related outreach events at K-12 schools
Develop inspiring computing-related K-12 outreach content
Deliver inspiring computing-related K-12 outreach content at K-12 schools and on campus
Produce reports that summarize the impact of the outreach
Perform other relevant duties as appropriate
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Demonstrated experience utilizing organizational skills.
Demonstrated experience developing presentations.
Experience in public speaking.
Experience in writing.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Experience with the K-12 educational system.
Some knowledge of computer science or another technical area.
Demonstrated experience using personal computers and various software such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation, email and internet. Microsoft Office software preferred.
Experience editing and managing web pages.

Position Special Requirements/Additional Information
The person in this position will work a varying schedule that may include evenings and occasional weekends as needed.
Must possess currently or be eligible to obtain a valid State of Montana Driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record (less than 12 points), or have other reliable means of transportation. Must have access to a vehicle to use for work (mileage will be reimbursed), and have minimum vehicle liability insurance. Do NOT send a copy of the driver’s license.
