Bozeman Health Outpatient Pharmacy Tech- Certified (Casual Call) in Bozeman, Montana

This is a position as a Certified Pharmacy technician in our Outpatient Pharmacy. Expected to cover all outpatient pharmacy duties, including mastering Pharmacy software, inventory, A/R, POS, Assisted Living process, exceptional customer service, etc. Must be able to work any shift needed Monday through Saturday. We are closed on Sunday and all major holidays. Expected to work 10 to 40 hours per week, holiday breaks, spring break, cover vacations and sick calls.

Position Summary:

The Outpatient Certified Pharmacy Technicians supports the outpatient pharmacy department and hospital to provide safe and prompt pharmaceutical care to patients. Bozeman Health pharmacy technicians are responsible for medication distribution, including compounding, accurate prescription filling, entering prescription, patient and third party information into the pharmacy software. Counting, labeling medication bottles, and maintaining accurate inventory. Must be competent with the point of sale system. Additionally, responsible for project work, including audit and quality improvement tasks as assigned by System Pharmacy Manager, Operations Supervisor and/or Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Current Montana Licensure (Certified Pharmacy Technician)

  • National Certification as Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)

  • Preferred: 1 year of Pharmacy Technician experience

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assist Pharmacist with all aspects of Bozeman Health medication distribution: Greeting patients, Data Entry, Filling, receiving payment.

  • Promptly answering the telephone and providing excellent customer service.

  • Maintain accurate and adequate drug inventories and supplies to meet dispensing needs. Assist in maintaining perpetual drug inventory including controlled substances. Competent in medication ordering and generating reports.

  • Follow established policies and procedures. Attend staff meetings as required.

  • Computer applications, MS Office, EMR, Outpatient (Retail) Pharmacy software, internet applications and standard office equipment.

  • Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.

  • Detail oriented, organizational skills and the ability to prioritize.
