Bozeman Health Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Bozeman, Montana
Position Summary:
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) will function as an independent healthcare provider working collaboratively with physicians and other members of a multidisciplinary health care team, to provide comprehensive care in a variety of settings (primary, acute, specialty) while demonstrating a high degree of clinical expertise. Provides direct individualized patient care and treatment with responsibility for assessing, examining, diagnosing and analyzing the patient's current health condition and developing short and long-term goals and treatment plans. Functions within the defined scope of clinical practice as outlined by applicable state law, licensing, certification, regulations, institutional policy and practice agreements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing Practice Degree
Graduate of an accredited nurse practitioner program in specialty
Montana Licensure (APRN) with Prescriptive Authority
Montana Licensure (Registered Nurse)
DEA License if applicable to practice area
National board certification as NP in applicable specialty
American Heart Association BLS
Two years of Registered Nurse Experience
Preferred: Additional training or certification in relevant specialty
Preferred: 2 years of Nurse Practitioner experience in relevant specialty
Essential Job Functions:
Provides quality, efficient and effective evidence based patient care, consultation as requested, advisement and/or initiation of treatment plans while following standard of care within specialty scope of practice.
Directs patient care by examining, diagnosing and analyzing the patient's current health condition, performing comprehensive admission history and physical exams, consultative notes, admission and discharge summaries, progress notes, writing orders and prescriptions and performing and or assisting with procedures and providing assistance with operative cases per defined scope of practice for specialty area.
Financially responsible for all aspects relating to transcription/coding.
Participates in quality/performance initiatives, research activities, education, the development of policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines as indicated while evaluating and implements the standards of care within the area of specialization.
