Duties and Responsibilities
The Senior Solutions Engineer will work directly with MilTech staff and DoD clients to develop and execute on project plans to meet client’s expectations. Activities may include:
Working directly with DoD Program Offices to develop problem statements and deliverables that meet the needs for technology transition
Developing a supporting statements of work (SOW), statements of objectives (SOO), project estimates and proposed budgets to help guide the client with appropriate contracting
Prioritizing and managing multiple projects including reporting and communications
Identifying, vetting and aligning internal and external resources to provide solutions to customer problems that meet or exceed expectations including budget and timeline
Management and development of assigned staff
Developing relationships with DoD Program Offices and customers in an effort to increase MilTech project work
Identifying and developing new systems and processes within MilTech based on efficiency or client needs
Developing and delivering solutions that include manufacturing / industrial engineering applications, technology and supplier scouting activities, technical research, engineering costing analysis, and general manufacturing assistance to advance technology transition
Following State of Montana and Federal guidelines for the procurement of goods and services in support of project execution.
Writing and reviewing of reports and presentations including project impact assessments
Travel to meet with DOD customers, and industry partners as required for the success of the project. This could be but is not limited to: delivering final presentations, vetting industry capabilities, and to attend face to face meetings as needed.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Demonstrated significant and progressive experience working within a variety of technology development, design, and manufacturing processes
Demonstrated experience using business and manufacturing improvement tools and techniques
Demonstrated project management skills including:
Project management techniques and software application
Identification and management of resources
Presentation of project status and final results
A degree in Engineering or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
Applied knowledge of financial modeling and analysis tools
Advanced degree in Engineering, Business, or Finance
Knowledge / experience with Department of Defense programs or military background

Represent MilTech in a professional manner when interacting with clients, internal and external personnel.
Effectively collaborate with MilTech, MSU, DoD, government, civilian, internal and external personnel in order to accomplish multiple operational goals.
Possess the ability to identify manufacturing, business and engineering problems and then formulate multiple solutions for solving them.
Be a self-starter who can work independently to identify, plan, organize, manage and execute projects.
Possess evidence of good judgment, flexibility and innovation to respond to the needs of a wide variety of clients.
Possess the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing including public presentations.
Position Special Requirements/Additional Information
Position is located in Bozeman, Montana, and is contingent upon continuation of grant funding.
A remote location may be agreed on depending on experience, facility (such as office location), location suitability to meet mission requirements, and other factors.
This position requires the ability to secure a Secret Level DoD Security Clearance.
This position requires ability to travel when necessary to interact with DoD customers, including travel throughout the Continental United States as well as Alaska, Hawaii, U.S territories and possessions, and possibly other worldwide locations.
