Oracle Snr Director - Enterprise Applications in Bozeman, Montana

Manage a team that designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a Senior Director of the software engineering division, you will apply your extensive knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to current and future design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and envision improvements to the architecture.

Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers Interacts internally and externally with executive management involving negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge. Demonstrated leadership and people management skills. Strong communication skills, analytical skills, thorough understanding of product development. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

Who are we looking for?

The Oracle IT team is seeking an experienced Senior Director of Technology Incubation team responsible for working with innovative technology, to create solutions and value that customers cannot live without.The role will be responsible for leading technical tiger team to build new technology products and deliver strategic development efforts to achieve OIT’s roadmap. In addition, this fast-paced team will serve as early adopters for new features through LA and GA cycles. OCI is central to multiple businesses within Oracle, and cross organizational collaboration is common. We are looking for a leader that can thrive in this fast pace environment and able to solve complex technology problems. We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record and the ability to lead execution while the product suite is growing and evolving. A builder/innovator mindset is a must!


You will lead technical teams and be responsible for building products and services related to strategic roadmap. This role will work directly with the CIO and other leadership teams within OIT to identify strategic product’s needs, prototype solutions and implementation across Oracle. Your team operates in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment and requires the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of key timelines and service evolution.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Builds, develops and manages engineering team capable of delivering needed strategic technology and new product initiatives including maintenance of product backlog

  • Responsible for IT research and development, analyzing technology, industry, and market trends to determine potential impacts to and opportunities for OIT in the areas of emerging or new technologies.

  • Works closely with the technical application development teams to drive continuous improvement and efficiency.

  • Expands adoption of existing technology, where appropriate, to leverage enterprise solutions that meet or exceed end-user demands.

  • Solve technical and operational issues by identifying short- and long-term technical solutions

  • Fosters a culture of automation and the use of Oracle’s cloud capabilities that improve customer experience, operational performance, resource efficiency, service availability and security

The ideal candidate must be a high-energy, strategic and technical expert leader possessing a strong sense of urgency with a performance-based track record of success.

S/he will have demonstrated successful expertise with a cloud product technology company. The successful candidate will be technically adept, possessing a broad combination of skills and experiences reflecting the complexities of Oracle and Oracle’s customers. This role requires technical cloud subject matter expertise and the capability to influence critical and timely transformational change for our customers.

The successful candidate:

  • Leadership and Subject Matter expertise in Cloud technologies

  • 15 years building world-class software products and teams

  • Deep knowledge in technologies such as Cloud, AI, ML, data analytics and conversational interfaces

  • Expertise in building enterprise scale systems

  • An accomplished people leader who can effectively develop and retain top product talent.

  • Combine discipline, entrepreneurship, collaboration and deep knowledge of the product and market

  • Prior experience in design thinking – ability to do iterative designing and prototyping with customer input

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, experience presenting product to an audience, in meetings, to stakeholders, 1-1 and to executive teams

  • Conceptual and strategic thinking combined with strong operational ability

  • Self-motivated driver with ability to roll up sleeves to get things done.


  • A Computer Science degree is preferred. An advanced degree is a plus.
