Acadia Healthcare Behavioral Intervention Specialist (START IN FALL SEMESTER) in Browning, Montana

The primary duties of the Behavioral Intervention Specialist (BIS) is to provide supervision of students to ensure a safe and therapeutic milieu and to provide a consistent and positive role model for the impressionable children/adolescents that are entrusted to them according to the Master Treatment Plan. You must also be able to conduct psycho educational group sessions and be a willing and enthusiastic participant in activities. A willingness and dedication to a thorough documentation process and thorough recording of progress notes is an essential quality. The BIS will also be able to discuss with other professionals the progress of the individual and work within an active educational classroom.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Education or related mental health field from an accredited university is preferred; however, a high school diploma with two (2) years of experience working with emotionally disturbed children or providing direct services in an educational or Human Service field is acceptable. The Candidate must receive good recommendations and demonstrate a satisfactory work record from previous employers; demonstrate competency and a working knowledge of behavioral theory and concepts; and able to apply behavioral principles. Excellent writing/documentation skills are required.
