Indian Health Service Clinical Psychologist in Browning, Montana

Summary This position is a Clinical Psychologist located at the Blackfeet Service Unit, Behavioral Health Department, Browning Montana. The position will report to the Supervisory Clinical Psychologist or designee. Responsibilities Provide professional therapeutic techniques in conducting comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluations and diagnosis of patients with a range of mental health issues. Provide therapeutic services based on comprehensive treatment plans that outline the therapeutic goals, methods, and modality to meet the individualized treatment needs of each patient. Provide scheduled on-call behavioral/mental health emergency services and crisis intervention to suicidal, homicidal or psychotic patient. Conduct psychological testing and comprehensive psychological assessments of referred patient to guide diagnosis and treatment planning. BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Degree: major or equivalent in psychology for all specializations except clinical psychology and counseling psychology. These two specializations have additional educational requirements, as stated below: - Clinical psychology: For positions at grades GS-11 and above, satisfactory completion of all the requirements for the doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. GS 13: experience as a psychologist in a mental health setting clinic or hospital while providing psychological evaluations, deliver therapeutic mental health treatment modalities for patients; provide consultation, collaboration and follow up; assist and refer patients with acute, chronic or severe mental illnesses and dual diagnosis patient populations. Use an electronic health records for patients. The selected individual is required to obtain and maintain medical staff clinical privileges, including any licensure requirements. If privileges are not obtained or maintained during employment, the employee will be subject to adverse actions, up to and including removal from Federal service.
