Administrative Assistant III

Supporting the LCME Dean in day-to-day operations such as answering and directing phone calls, aiding with the Dean's schedules, travel, meetings, and events, replying to emails, recording meeting minutes, directing visitors, and creating and maintaining filing systems for LCME.  This position is expected to research, gather, and compile information to analyze and produce reports or documents and will oversee components of budgets and college newsletters.  Additional duties include administering the construction management sprint-degree program, maintaining calendars and inventories of office supplies, and replenishing them as needed.  This position requires extensive use of common office software, including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation applications, and campus software for database, scheduling, budgeting, and curriculum records.  This position also assists students in finding the right faculty member or staff to obtain help.  This position manages work-study students and other LCME student assistants.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma plus 2 years of working experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree

  • Effective public relations, interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse groups of individuals and provide positive professional customer service

  • Ability to handle conflicts and challenging situations in a timely and professional manner

  • Ability to problem solve and make sound decisions using good judgment, tact, and sensitivity and with proper treatment of confidential and sensitive information

  • High capacity or organize, prioritize, and pay attention to detail

  • Skill in the use of operating basic office equipment, such as copier, scanner, fax machine

  • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures

  • Proficiency with computer operation and various software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
