Salary:                                 $13.60/ Hour

DUTIES:

Montana Technological University is seeking a part-time Administrative Associate to join the Admissions Office. This position entails a variety of critical day-to-day support tasks including data entry and imports, organization of campus visits, monitoring and responding to website live chat, answering phones, routing emails, and handling incoming and outgoing physical mail. Additional on-occasion duties include communication with prospective students, help with campus visits and recruiting events, copy editing, office inventory/organization, and other duties as-assigned.

Our ideal Administrative Associate has a knack for organization and possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position involves numerous computer-oriented tasks so proficiency with office software and technology is required. Higher education, customer service, event planning, and copy editing skills are all strongly preferred.

Essential functions include but are not limited to:

  • Monitor department email inbox – replying to or forwarding messages as appropriate.

  • Monitor online live chat widget and respond as needed.

  • Answer main department phone line and route calls.

  • Receive and route incoming mail, send mailings as needed.

  • Work with Events Coordinator to plan and organize campus visits.

  • Maintain inventory of publications and swag.

  • Special projects and other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director of Admissions and/or Executive Director of Admissions and Enrollment.

  • Work in a team-oriented, flexible, and customer-service oriented manner, fostering and maintaining strong relationships with program and University partners.  

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma

  • 2-years related experience

  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Strong office software aptitude with ability to quickly learn new applications

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree

  • Experience working in higher education environment

  • Customer service experience

  • Copywriting and/or editing experience

  • Event planning experience

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • The ability to lift up to 49 pounds

  • Ability to stand for up to 2 hours
