The Mechanical Engineering Department at Montana Technological University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Practice in Mechanical Engineering with an ability to teach a broad section of Mechanical Engineering classes, including advanced solid mechanics, machine design, computer-aided design, and heat transfer.
The successful candidate must possess an MS degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline and a BS degree in engineering or Engineering Science. Significant industrial experience is required. This position is important for the overall preparedness of our students by providing real-world engineering experience to our students. The person may be required to teach other engineering courses and support laboratory operations depending on the needs of the department. Previous collegiate teaching experience is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate excellent English written and oral communication skills; have a demonstrated commitment to education; and be able to become a licensed Professional Engineer within the United States within four years of hiring.

Capability to obtain a Professional Engineering license in the United States within four years of hiring
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
Previous collegiate teaching experience
Experience mentoring senior design students
Experience with ABET accreditation
