NORTHWESTERN ENERGY Construction Superintendent in BUTTE, Montana
QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:
- An Engineering degree is required
- Ability to demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Background in, or practical working knowledge of, all phases of natural gas and electric operations
- General knowledge of the engineering, construction and operation of natural gas and electric transmission and distribution systems
- Knowledge of Company Safety and Environmental policies and procedures and their application and working knowledge of PSC rules and tariffs and their application to customers
- Ability to supervise and direct the activities of several functions, direct reports, contractors, and coordinate diverse activities, delegate responsibilities efficiently
- Ability to promote and maintain a positive working environment
- Effective administration and leadership skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to take "on call duties" as assigned and be available for other after hour assignments as situations dictate
- Ability to lead in day to day operations and be a change agent with skills and experience for innovation and implementation of new programs and processes
- Ability to lift materials up to 30 pounds
- Ability to travel up to 25% of time, mostly within the division; little to some overnight required
- Ability to pass an employment physical, a drug test and a background check
- A PE, or the ability to acquire one within 18 months, is preferred Labor relations experience is desirable
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Ensure a safe working environment for all employees within their reporting responsibility
- Ensure that all work is done in compliance with the NorthWestern Energy Safety Manual and other appropriate standards
- Work closely with the Operations and Engineering departments to ensure that work is done on schedule and as efficiently as possible
- Ensure that all work is done in compliance with the NorthWestern Energy Safety Manual and other appropriate codes, standards and processes
- Ensure Construction Department operates within the expense budget and capital projects are completed as planned and within budget parameters
- Adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
- Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, and strategic business objectives
- Community involvement in civic organizations and internal programs is encouraged
Full-time position.
$99,300 - $124,100 annually, depending on experience.
