NORTHWESTERN ENERGY Demand Side Management Engineer in BUTTE, Montana

Req. #2613. Northwestern Energy is currently seeking a Demand Side Management Engineer in Butte, MT. The Demand Side Management (DSM) Engineer is primarily responsible for supporting all facets of NorthWestern Energy's electric and natural gas DSM and Universal System Benefits (USB) programs including designing, developing, administering, marketing, and monitoring programs and related service contracts, reporting on program activities, and supporting related regulatory filings. GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS: Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record . 4-year degree in Engineering. Current Professional Engineer's License or ability to obtain one is preferred. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment . Must be flexible, possess an entrepreneurial spirit, and have a strong desire to provide excellent customer service. General understanding of natural gas and electric utility systems preferred. Familiarity with underlying concepts as well as challenges associated with utility-operated DSM programs. Good working knowledge of economic analysis and energy-related concepts and calculations . Knowledge of current Montana building codes is preferred. Working knowledge and experience in construction and design preferred. Working knowledge and experience with residential and commercial lighting, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment design, installation, and maintenance. Experienced user of Microsoft (MS) Word, MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint. DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: All NorthWestern Energy employees are required to adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics. Research, evaluate, and perform technical and economic analysis on energy efficiency technologies, projects and programs. Perform computer-related functions such as engineering analysis, spreadsheet development, utilization and manipulation, and database compilations . Compile and write technical reports. Provide input on program planning, design, acquisition targets, and budgets for DSM/USB projects and programs. Maintain accurate DSM/USB program records, databases, and documentation. Function as either a primary or supporting contact for DSM/USB programs. Interact with and provide information to NorthWestern Energy's external technical advisory committees and other parties as necessary. Develop and manage requests for proposals, evaluate bids and negotiate contracts, and manage contractor performance. Monitor program performance relative to established acquisition targets and budgets. Support the development of DSM/USB regulatory filings. WAGE: $49,400 to $117,200. BENEFITS: Yes.
