SCL Health Registered Nurse Emergency Department in Butte, Montana

Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care of patients. The staff RN utilizes the nursing process by use of technology, therapeutic intervention, evidence-based practice and coordination of care with other health team members.

Full time night shift position

Scope

  • Collaborate with Trauma team members including MD's, nurses, technicians, EMS and coders in order to optimize care for trauma patients, which includes but is not limited to tracking, trending and reporting data.
  • Communicate patient record with ancillary hospital services
  • Identify and responds to life threatening situations.
  • Effectively acknowledges, coordinates and implements diagnostic and therapeutic orders.
  • Demonstrate ability to triage patients and designate appropriate acuity levels after 1 year Emergency Department experience or sooner as determined by ED personnel.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in cardiac monitoring; specialized central insertions and modalities of treatment; airway maintenance, BLS and ACLS skills.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in selection, application and monitoring of patient restraints, utilizing least restrictive method.
  • Observe patients; records significant conditions and reactions and notifies supervisor and physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments and significant incidents.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • ASN from an accredited program
  • BSN from an accredited program required within 48 months of your hire required
  • Current Montana RN license
  • Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association
  • ACLS required within six months of hire
  • PALS or ENPC required within six months of hire
  • CEN recommended
  • TNCC Recommended within one year of hire

Physical Requirements:

Interact with others by effectively communicating, both orally and in writing.- and -Operate computers and other office equipment requiring the ability to move fingers and hands.- and -See and read computer monitors and documents.- and -Remain sitting or standing for long periods of time to perform work on a computer, telephone, or other equipment.- and -May require lifting and transporting objects and office supplies, bending, kneeling and reaching.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$32.50 - $77.71
