State of Montana Activities Smoke Aide in Columbia Falls, Montana


The incumbent serves as a supervised smoking attendant and activities aide which functions under the direction of Recreational Technician. Assists in carrying out a structured treatment regimen within the scope of activities. Assembles residents for group or individual activities. Assists residents to scheduled activity or social functions. Provides input to the Recreational Technician in the assessment of each individuals’ performance and attendance in activities programs. Assists with charting and progress notes. Helps to develop various activities. Provides one-on-one activity sessions to assigned residents. Analyzes, communicates and documents participation and results. Provides supervised smoking to assigned residents in accordance with Policy #150, which designates smoking times, smoking areas, and procedures to follow in order to ensure a safe environment for all residents. Performs other duties as assigned.

Lifting and transfer techniques. Ability to follow directions, read, write, and maintain visual acuity. Ability to work safely and follow established policies and procedures. Ability to lift, push, pull, bend, reach, and squat. Working knowledge of the activity function in a nursing home setting. Ability to tolerate second hand cigarette smoke for at least four to five hours per day.
