Xanterra Travel Collection Assistant Controller - Glacier National Park in Columbia Falls, Montana

Housing: No Employee Housing Available Perks include: Free seasonal Glacier National Park pass Free Red Bus Tours (as available) Exclusive Retail and Dining discounts in Glacier Responsibilities A day in the life of the Assistant Controller Accountable for completion and accuracy of all Glacier National Park Lodges and Cedar Creek Lodge profit and loss statements and balance sheet accounts plus responsible for overall payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and sales & cash functions for Glacier National Park properties. Selects and trains accounting personnel that directly report to this position with the ability to recommend hiring and complete performance appraisals with recommended salary and solutions to other personnel issues in coordination with the Glacier Property Controller. Implement appropriate procedures to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of daily revenue reporting, weekly flash reporting, and monthly financial reporting to property and corporate management. Manage, supervise, and train accounting employees assigned to this position. Ensure all accounting operations/functions are being completed timely and accurately. Continuously analyze accounting operations for efficient and effective utilization of accounting staff. Reconcile timely and accurately all assigned balance sheet accounts monthly. Implement and maintain appropriate procedures to ensure the accuracy of outlet tip and revenue reporting. Maintain daily tip records and report allocation issues to the General Manager and appropriate Food & Beverage management on a monthly basis. Maintain and develop spreadsheets in Excel to streamline audit procedures and track data more efficiently. Control and monitor the retention policy in regards to all company financial records. Ensure all documents are retained according to company policy. Maintain, update, and revise all accounting operations desk policy and procedure manuals as needed. Provide support for the operating and accounting units in Glacier National Park. Develop and present to the Glacier Property Controller any matters requiring his/her approval/decision. Other projects and duties as assigned. Qualifications Essential Skills and Knowledge: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience. Minimum of five (5) years accounting experience, preferably in hospitality accounting management. Ability to manage multiple tasks in an efficient manner Advanced computer skills in MS Office. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to handle and strictly maintain confidential information. Possess a valid U.S. Driver’s License and comply with Xanterra Driver Safety Program and Policy. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. Able to travel as needed. Must be at least 19 years old.
