Kalispell Regional Healthcare Manager, Imaging Services - Logan Health - Conrad, MT in Conrad, Montana

Overview

Under the general direction and supervision of the CEO, is continuously responsible for managing the Imaging Department, including planning, organizing, directing and supervising department functions, activities, and employees. The Radiology Manager has primary responsibility for budget development and monitoring, provides input for compensation decisions, development of new programs or initiatives, policy and procedure development and/or revision, hiring, training, retention, performance evaluations and disciplinary actions for employees and contractors working in the department.

The Radiology Manager ensures service development, personnel management and resource allocation and control in order to support and enhance patient care. Responsible for the services provided within the hospital by the diagnostic, ultrasound, and CT Scan technicians.

Responsibilities

  1. Collaborates with other departments to create systems and problem solve ongoing issues that impact departmental/organizational goals and patient care delivery.

  2. Develops implements and evaluates on-going service programs to ensure consistent, quality patient care and incorporates quality improvement and patient satisfaction data into departmental goals.

  3. Ensures regulatory compliance to include radiation safety and monitoring within the Imaging department.

  4. Manages internal budget, reviews expenses, purchases supplies, inventories equipment, etc. Demonstrates fiscal accountability for department resources and the ability to achieve outcomes within allocated resources. Monitors the mandatory education activities of personnel in the department to ensure compliance.

  5. Responsible for ongoing development of staff and department-specific patient care programs.

  6. Fosters a service, which is consistent with the patient care beliefs and the shared management philosophy of the hospital

  7. Actively participates in ongoing in-service programs, departmental and facility-wide meetings, as assigned, and disseminates information to departmental staff

  8. Maintains current ARRT registration, MT state licensure, and meets continuing education requirements.

  9. Collaborates with HR on the recruitment and selection of qualified employment candidates, following all policies, guidelines and applicable laws

  10. Develops a departmental budget within designated deadlines according to all budgetary policies and procedures.

  11. Consults with and advises the CEO on matters relating to operations and programs.

  12. Ensures standards of practice set by professional organizations, state licensure and accreditation bodies.

  13. Demonstrates a commitment to a health work environment by modeling the desired behaviors and encouraging those within the Imaging department and others

  14. Other duties as assigned.

Schedule: Primarily weekdays (Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5:00 pm with 1-hour lunch period). Occasionally may be required to adjust schedule hours to include nights and weekends.

Qualifications

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education/Experience: Graduate of approved two-year Radiography program. Two to five years in administrative management role required.

Technical Skills:

  1. Knowledge of human resources management program, operation, fiscal management skills and familiarity with regulatory and accrediting agency standards required.

  2. Direct supervision of FTE's in CT scan, ultrasound and diagnostic departments.

Other qualifications/certificate/license:

Current ARRT Registration and Montana State license required.
