Logan Health Medical Records Clerk, Clinic - Conrad, MT in Conrad, Montana

Job Description Summary:

Under general supervision of the Clinic Medical Records Certified Coder and according to specific procedures and within the confines of applicable statues and policy, collects daily records of inpatient and outpatient visits, progress notes from outside sources, ancillary reports, compiling the records with appropriate studies, etc. Completes filing of all records, late reports, etc. Handles requests for records from health care providers. Distributes information at least twice daily to the mailboxes and other departments as needed.

Education/Experience: High school diploma, Strong background in Word and Excel programs, 2 years of related clerical experience in a medical setting preferred.

Technical Skills: Extra computer knowledge would definitely be an asset.

DECISION MAKING LATITUDEEmployee works independently, refers questions to Clinic Manager, Director and/or Clinic Coder.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES1. On a daily basis, performs Medical Records clerical duties.2. Takes requests from physician offices received by phone or fax for release of records for continuing care.3. Pulls records as requested by the ER and Acute Care as well as other various departments.4. Files completed records in their corresponding patient files.5. Prepares copies of records needed to help process claims such as Worker's Compensation and the VA.6. Knowledgeable regarding department functions.7. Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.8. Maintains open communication using appropriate chain of command regarding issues.9. Conducts all work activities with respect for rights and wishes of patients, visitors, families, and fellow employees.10. Maintains confidentiality of all hospital, clinic and patient information at all times as observed by peers and management.11. Other duties as required and assigned.

Shift:

Day Shift - 8 Hours (United States of America)

Schedule Details:

Please know schedules and shifts are subject to change based on patient care and department/organizational needs.

Schedule: Primarily weekdays (Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm with 1 hour lunch period). Occasionally may be required to adjust schedule hours to include nights and weekends.
