Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs Administrative Support Assistant (OA) in Crow Agency, Montana

Summary This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Superintendent, Crow Agency in Crow Agency, Montana. ANY RELOCATION EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH REPORTING FOR DUTY WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SELECTED EMPLOYEE. Responsibilities Supports the management of the Administration Office, and respective branches, by independently performing a wide range of administrative support work. Serves as a payroll coordinator, Quicktime user, and provides records management support for the Administration office. Prepares a variety of reports, forms, and correspondence in final form from rough draft, written, and/or oral instructions. Provide information, guidance and advice regarding, procurement, travel and cost accounting. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications The following table shows the amounts of education and/or experience required to qualify for positions covered by this standard. GS-6: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Specialized Experience: Creating a variety of correspondence in proper formats using word processing programs; routing official correspondence; managing calendars and meeting schedules for management; providing administrative support such as answering telephone calls and greeting visitors; serving as a point-of-contact for an office; and performing data entry into an automated timekeeping system. GS-7: 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Specialized Experience: Performing specialized office tasks including making travel arrangements for executive staff; compiling information from a variety of sources to prepare reports for executive staff; preparing supply requisitions according to established rules; & providing direct support and technical assistance to branch managers, supervisors, and staff in departments such as finance, human resources, procurement, property and supply, and Indian self-determination. Proficiency Requirements: Position with Parenthetical Title of Office Automation - In addition to meeting experience or education requirements, applicants for these positions must show possession of 40 word per minute typing speed. Applicants may meet this requirement by self-certifying their proficiency. Experience using automation and computers for supply management is highly desired. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Merit Promotion candidates must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the announcement closing date.
