State of Montana Driver License Coordinator/Instructor in Deer Lodge, Montana
DRIVER LICENSE COORDINATOR/TRAINER MONTANA CORRECTIONAL ENTERPRISES DEER LODGE, MT * * MISSION - *Montana Department of Corrections is creating a safer Montana through Accountability, Rehabilitation and Empowerment. If you want to work making positive changes in the community the Montana Department of Corrections is the place for you *JOB OVERVIEW – *This position is responsible for performing all duties associated with the issuance of Montana State Identification cards to eligible DOC inmates as a result of imminent release, discharge or parole using the L-1 Card Production System. Incumbent is responsible for following all Department of Justice (DOJ)/Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) Field Operation Bureau Rules, regulations, policies, and procedures governing the issuance of State ID Cards as agreed on by the DOJ and the DOC. This position: * Must be able to set up and operate the L-I Identification Card Production and associated equipment at institutions with approved and tested data drop lines at their locations. * * Must maintain security for all DOJ ID card equipment and supplies at all locations.* * * Must be able to communicate equipment or software problems and issues to the DOJ/MVD, or their equipment contractor so problems can be resolved quickly.* * Submits all State ID applications completed by the inmates to the DOJ/MVD in Helena in a timely manner. * * Ensures that the correct documents are used to establish the inmate’s identity for issuance requirements of a State ID card, pursuant to State law.* * * Uses the DOJ/MVD electronic driver’s license and identification card system to create an identification card record.* * * Administers standardized knowledge tests to inmates who are applying for a Montana State driver’s license by utilizing the L-1 Card Production System.* * * Maintains appropriate State ID card production supplies and consumables.* * * Performs driver record checks by accessing the DOJ/MVD Problem Driver Point System (PDPS) database.* * * Answers questions and provides information to the inmate population regarding State ID cards and how and when the inmate can obtain one.* * * Ensures that the completed State ID card is correct and placed in the inmate’s record file when received from the DOJ. * Maintains the necessary documentation and system of records to meet the requirements of an audit by the Department of Justice.
