Ranch Supervisor Crops- 21141206 * *RANCH SUPERVISOR CROPS MONTANA CORRECTIONAL ENTERPRISES DEER LODGE, MONTANA MISSION - *The Montana Department of Corrections enhances public safety, supports the victims of crime, promotes positive change in offender behavior, and reintegrates offenders into the community. If you want to work making positive changes in the community the Montana Department of Corrections is the place for you! *JOB OVERVIEW - Montana Correctional Enterprises (MCE) provides vocational education and training to offenders which reduces recidivism, increases public safety and alleviates a greater dependence on general fund for corrections, as MCE staff serve as security during the workday. The MCE Agricultural operations include beef cattle, dairy cattle, crops, feedlot, land management, dairy milking parlor, dairy processing, wild land fire crew and other associated programs. Responsibilities include implementing the managerial and operational plan for the MCE crops enterprise, supervising and training inmate workers in all aspects of the crops enterprise and assisting other MCE agriculture employees in their efforts to ensure the success of the MCE agriculture program and the overall MCE division. QUALIFICATIONS – *This level of knowledge, skills and abilities typically requires an associate degree in an agricultural field or four years of agricultural experience. Three years of relevant ranching experience, including a minimum of one in a supervisory capacity. Experience must include working an agriculture operation with responsibilities in crop production, farming equipment operation and maintenance.
