Position Summary:The purpose of this position is to provide the family and youth with support to maintain the child in the home, reunify the family, and/or avoid a higher level of care. Provides support to the family of a child with an SED diagnosis, through minimum of weekly home visits and on-going communications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Support families through weekly meetings while providing educational, emotional, and community supports, risk assessment, and confidentiality to maintain a healthy relationship conducive to client growth through Therapeutic Foster Care, Home Support Services, and SafeCare reunification process (including supervised visitation).
Understand the role of the family and family system, whether the family is biological, kinship, state foster care, or therapeutic foster care.
Complete, update and maintain all necessary documentation within the guidelines set by COA, Montana ARM’s, Contracts, and YBGR Policy and Procedures.
Identify home visit tools that will assist youth and families in meeting their treatment goals, following the YBGR curriculum for home visits.
Contribute to the strategic goals and outcomes of the agency as measured by the development and achievement of individual, departmental, and organizational goals and outcomes. Participate in Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) goals of the organization both individually and as a team member.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Competencies:
Required:Bachelor’s degree in mental health, human services or similar field from an accredited university or college
Preferred: SafeCare Training with certification as SafeCare provider
Previous Professional Experience:In lieu of Bachelor’s degree 6 (six) years of closely related of professional experience may be considered.
License and/or Certification:Driver’s License to operate passenger vehicle
Criminal / Child Abuse Clearance:Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana.
Physical/Environmental Demands & Requirements:
Work environment: This position will generally work indoors in climate controlled environment but occasionally will work in outdoor environment where they may not be protected from weather conditions.
Will occasionally be required to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time while performing administrative duties.
Will frequently operate computer, keyboard, and other office equipment.
Consistently needs to about inside building, outside to include uneven terrain, changes in elevation, and occasionally change body position from and to standing, kneeling, sitting, and prone.
The person in this position will constantly communicate with clients, their treatment team, and others. Must be able to communicate accurate information and accurately understand information communicated by those individuals.
Must be able to perceive, recognize, and observe clients behavior to include non-verbal cues expressed by the client.
Hiring Range Salary$16.77 - $18.78 per hour depending on education and experience.

Today Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, a nonprofit organization, is trusted locally and nationally as a leader in the field of mental health care for children and their families.
Our Residential Treatment is located on a 410 acre, working farm and ranch located in Billings, MT. We offer a continuum of mental health services that include case management, youth mentoring, home/school-based programs and foster care in addition to residential treatment. We specialize in treating troubled youth who struggle with social, emotional, and behavioral disorders. We also have four Community Based Services locations in Livingston, Lewistown, Dillon, and Billings. With all of our locations we impact about 650 kids each day. And throughout our history, YBGR has impacted close to 10,000 youth and their families.
