Position Summary:Provide one on one mentoring to youth and support for their family in implementing youth’s individualized treatment plan. Support youth in developing and implementing social skills, independent living skills, relational skills, and behavior management/modification techniques. Coaching /teaching/modeling use of effective and appropriate coping skills, social skills, and interpersonal skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides one on one relational counseling to the children/youth on their caseload and coaching in areas such as: social skills, independent living skills, age appropriate coping skills, anger management skills and self-esteem building skills following the youth's individual treatment plan.
Coordinate schedule to meet the required / requested hours a week for each youth on the caseload ensuring; financial viability is maintained
Create and participate in structured community activities/integration with the youth that allows for the practice of skills in a safe, structured setting.
Complete required documentation including: entering accurate progress notes into the Electronic Medical Record, tracking hours worked in NOVA time, weekly updates.
Meet with Care Coordinator to provide updates on any issues, concerns, or behaviors that arise with a child/youth on their caseload . Attend TYM meetings monthly.
Contribute to the strategic goals and outcomes of the agency as measured by the development and achievement of individual, departmental, and organizational goals and outcomes. Participate in Performance Quality Improvement (PQI) goals of the organization both individually and as a team member.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Competencies:
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma is required.
Two (2) years in Psychology, Social Work, or similar field of study is preferred.
Previous Professional Experience:
- Two (2) years of experience working with youth in a similar setting or environment is preferred.
License and/or Certification:Driver’s License to operate passenger vehicle.
Criminal / Child Abuse Clearance:Must pass criminal record and child abuse registry background check as required by the State of Montana.
Physical/Environmental Demands & Requirements:
Work environment: This position will generally work indoors in climate controlled environment but occasionally will work in outdoor environment where they may not be protected from weather conditions.
Will occasionally be required to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time while performing administrative duties.
Will frequently operate computer, keyboard, and other office equipment.
Consistently needs to move about inside building, outside to include uneven terrain, changes in elevation, and frequently change body position from and to standing, kneeling, sitting, and prone.
The person in this position will constantly communicate with clients, their treatment team, and others. Must be able to communicate accurate information and accurately understand information communicated by those individuals.
Must be able to perceive, recognize, and observe clients behavior to include non-verbal cues expressed by the client.
Hiring Range Salary$11.02 - $12.34 per hour depending on experience

About the OrganizationYellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch was founded in 1956 and welcomed the first boy to the ranch in 1957. Today Yellowstone Boys and Girls Ranch, a nonprofit organization, is trusted locally and nationally as a leader in the field of mental health care for children and their families.
Our Residential Treatment is located on a 410 acre, working farm and ranch located in Billings, MT. We offer a continuum of mental health services that include case management, youth mentoring, home/school-based programs and foster care in addition to residential treatment. We specialize in treating troubled youth who struggle with social, emotional, and behavioral disorders. We also have four Community Based Services locations in Livingston, Lewistown, Dillon, and Billings. With all of our locations we impact about 650 kids each day. And throughout our history, YBGR has impacted close to 10,000 youth and their families.
